The highly anticipated Patch 7.0 update for Wild Rift is launching soon! Riot Games is bringing a wealth of new content and improvements to the game on January 22nd. Players can look forward to exciting in-game events, fresh skins, gameplay adjustments, new champions, and even more fun modes.

Wild Rift Patch 7.0 Update: Ionia Celebration Overview

The new update focuses on celebrating the Chinese “Year of the Horse.” Starting January 22nd, players will see festive additions to the game, including a redesigned user interface and a brand new Ionia Rift map replacing the Bandle City map.

The Ionia Rift map is getting some exciting updates to make matches even more engaging for everyone. Here’s what’s new:

  • Optimization of Vision Clarity: The new maps will feature enhanced battlefield visibility and adjusted distribution of terrain barriers and brush in the jungle. This will in turn bring more clarity to the Rift via a much more brighter vision.
  • Spirit Flower: Once a teammate dies, the Rift will show its respect by putting a flower down. You or your ally can pick it up and carry their energy forward, so the fallen can help your team even from the fountain. You will also receive a Sprit Flower whenever you lose your jungle monster to enemy champions.
  • Mid Lane Wind Zone: This will give all midlaners a special movement boost, making it easier for them to roam and support their allies across the map.
  • Monster Respawn Timing Visibility: The Devs has increased the Spawn timer visibility making it easier to keep track of your jungle monsters.

New Champion releases and Item additions

Smolder

Okay, so Patch 7.0 for Wild Rift is here, and I’m super excited because we’re getting a new champion: Smolder! He’s an ADC, and they’re calling him the Fiery Fledgeling. From what I’ve seen, he really ramps up in damage later in the game, so he could be a real powerhouse if you can get him going.

Smolder has a particularly strong ability: he can call on his mother for help in battle, and she unleashes fiery attacks on his opponents. He’s a great new champion for Wild Rift!

Mel

With Wild Rift Patch 7.0, players will get to experience a new champion: Mel. Known from the Arcane animated series as Mel Medarda, she’s a flexible mage who can effectively play both the Mid Lane and Support roles.

Mel has a remarkable ability: she can reflect enemy attacks back at them with her second skill. This creates opportunities for impressive plays that can quickly turn the battle in her favor.

New Item additions

The developers also shared some minor changes and additions to the item options in Wild Rift. Here’s what they’ve updated:

  • Abyssal Mask: This new item will greatly boosts Mage tank champions stats making them more tankier and scarier.
  • Hollow Radiance: This new item will grant extra magic resist and magic damage, making it easier to clear minion waves.
  • Guinsoo’s Rageblade: This item will further boost the damage output of one-hit marksman champions making them more dangerous on the Rift.

Arena mode

Arena mode is back in this update! Team up with a duo and compete against 14 other players in a free-for-all brawl. We’ve also improved the Arena map to better fit the overall theme of this patch.

AAA-ARAM

With the release of Patch 7.0, AAA-ARAM is now a permanent game mode for everyone! The developers have also improved the runes available in AAA ARAM. You’ll now get runes that are more suited to your champion, and there will be more good choices overall.

You’ll only get Runes that work well with your chosen champion. Plus, the developers are adding a cool new feature called Flying Swords! I’m really excited about this update because it lets each champion use their own special blades in combat.

Wild Rift Patch 7.0 Update: Ranked Season, Wild Pass, and More Skins

Ranked Season 20 and Wild Pass

  • The Ranked Season 20 will start on January 22nd with a new Teemo skin as a free reward.
  • The new Wild Pass will showcase Food Spirits Ziggs skin as the main skin of the pass.
  • The Second Wild Pass would feature Janitor Thresh skin.

The developers are updating how skin collections work. You’ll soon be able to choose specific customizations for your skins and see a preview of your chosen setup right on the collection page.

Players can look forward to a variety of new skins, including the Lunar Guardian, Cosmic, and Dragonmancer collections, plus even more exciting options!
