Wild claims Kyle Sandilands dated The Chase’s ‘Smiling Assassin’… and how his wife found out

Kyle Sandilands has been left shaken over claims that he once dated The Chase star Mara Lejins.

The 54-year-old radio personality was surprised to learn his name came up as part of a question on the Channel Seven quiz show.

Kyle shared on Tuesday that he was surprised when someone hinted he had previously dated a fellow show contestant, a 27-year-old known as the ‘Smiling Assassin.’ He told Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 50, about the unexpected suggestion.

Kyle shared that he was the subject of a mention on the TV show ‘The Chase’ the previous day. He said the host brought him up in connection to a question, which surprised him.

Next, they showed a clip from Monday’s show, featuring host Larry Emdur asking what Raya, the app, was originally intended for when it first came out in 2015.

After Larry correctly guessed ‘dating’, Mara shared an additional detail about the app.

Oh my god, she *told* me it’s this super exclusive dating app, like, only celebrities get on it! They actually use it to meet people, can you believe it?! And Larry just gave me this look and was all, ‘You seem to know a *lot* about this, huh?’ It’s just… I do my research, okay?! I need to know *everything*.

Mara shyly pushed her hair behind her ear and then said she had matched with Kyle on a dating app.

‘It’s how I met Kyle Sandilands,’ she teased.

Kyle seemed very upset as he explained that the situation was even more embarrassing because he was watching the show with his wife, Tegan Kynaston, who is 38 years old.

‘She brings up this accusation about me and I’m watching the show with my wife,’ he explained.

She’s claimed that she and I have been having an affair, and my wife asked me if I’d slept with her. I told her I hadn’t.

However, the ‘accusation’ did give Kyle pause for thought, given his past lothario lifestyle.

He admitted he’d lost track of his sexual partners, saying, ‘I’ve been with so many people, I honestly can’t remember who.’

Kyle then put paid to the claim, revealing that he has never used a dating app to find romance.

‘I’ve never been on an app. I get my strange in real life,’ he said.

‘I don’t have to trawl around like a desperate on a site.’

Kyle doesn’t need to search for a partner – he married Tegan in 2023 and they had a son, Otto, in 2022.

This follows comments from Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, Kyle’s co-host, about their working relationship, which has recently been strained by several disagreements on the air.

Jackie recently mentioned to T Australia magazine that she and Kyle haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, and she won’t hesitate to share her differing opinion when necessary.

Jackie explained that she and Kyle have fundamentally different viewpoints, making them see things very differently from each other.

She said her business partner had views similar to Donald Trump, while she personally leaned towards more progressive beliefs.

‘It’s to do with all the wokeness,’ she said, referring to their recent on-air fights.

Look, I was telling Kyle, just because someone’s ‘woke’ – and honestly, it’s not a bad thing! – doesn’t automatically make them some crazy radical. They’re just… trying to understand things from other people’s perspectives, you know? They’re trying to be empathetic, and that’s a good thing, right? I just wish Kyle could see that!

‘And Kyle leans more into the Trump-style camp.’
