Wiggles Star Makes Shocking Comeback After Heart Attack

Greg Page has revealed his brand new role in show business.

Back in 2013, I bid a tearful farewell to my days as the Yellow Wiggle, but now, I’m thrilled to be stepping back onto that iconic stage once more!

The 53-year-old is starring in the new musical production of Annie at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney.

He will play President Roosevelt as the performance plays in both Sydney and Melbourne.

As a devoted enthusiast, I can say from personal experience that although I’ve taken my talents across the globe, there’s a significant difference between assuming a stage role in a professional setting and participating in a production intended for children.

In an interview with the Canberra Times, he mentioned that it felt quite rigid or planned out, unlike working with the Wiggles where there was room for spontaneity and improvisation.

Fortunately, he’s got a stellar cast by his side reminding him to tone down the finger guns.

Page remarked, ‘A person may leave the Wiggles group, but the essence of being a Wiggle will always stay with him.’

He remarked: ‘I’ve taken the stage in numerous theaters, in various countries on multiple occasions. This encounter, however, is unique.’

Previously, Page disclosed that he experienced deep, debilitating feelings of loneliness while being part of the renowned children’s band.

Previously, when he departed the group in 2006, he admitted that he connected with his fellow band members only on a surface level out of apprehension about being criticized.

Greg pointed out that he didn’t fault his fellow band members, instead, he criticized himself for lacking self-assurance and not being able to express his true feelings openly.

In his conversation with the news outlet, Greg admitted that he may have unintentionally contributed to his solitary circumstances by not addressing the problems he was facing.

He mentioned that a health issue leading to orthostatic intolerance, which brings about feelings of tiredness and unsteadiness, served as a trigger for his sense of solitude.

He didn’t openly express his emotions, but thought others might have noticed that there were personal issues he was dealing with.

However, it’s the way you handle such situations and adapt to them that could potentially lead to feelings of loneliness.

Since December 2005, Greg has been dealing with health complications, as he underwent a double hernia surgery during that time.

I found myself compelled to step away from our 2006 American tour, as I had been beset by a series of recurring fainting episodes, garbled speech, overwhelming exhaustion, and uncontrollable tremors.

Following his diagnosis with a non-fatal type of dysautonomia, a difficult-to-identify long-term health issue, Greg chose to take a break from his cherished musical group.

In doing so he made way for newcomer Sam Moran.

Following his comeback to the Wiggles in 2012 as a replacement for Sam, Greg almost experienced a life-threatening heart attack during a special, one-time performance with the group at the Castle Hill RSL in 2020.

An on-leave nurse, still quite youthful, swiftly retrieved a life-saving defibrillator from the RSL and valiantly attempted CPR on Page until the arrival of emergency services.

At the specified moment, Greg recounted to The Weekend Australian that he can recall three instances: panting fiercely, being on the ground, and finding himself in a hospital.

As I gazed upward at the ceiling, I could sense an overwhelming fatigue washing over me – not a negative or ill feeling, simply a deep exhaustion that was all-encompassing.

Greg went on to express his gratitude to those who helped save his life.

He expressed his deep gratitude for the individuals who took action to try and save someone’s life. Without their intervention, he would not be alive.

In his first interview since the attack on radio station 2GB, Greg said he had no warning signs.

He shared that he was filled with joy as he walked along, really gave it my all dancing at the concert that evening, and I must admit, I came close to not finishing it.

Even after suffering a heart attack, Greg asserted that he views himself as ‘more fit’ than he’s previously been. He also mentioned that he weighed more when he departed from The Wiggles in the year 2013.

He expressed feeling great, with no indications of illness or discomfort. As the performance drew near, he decided to amp up his pace and exert himself a bit more in the morning.
