Wicked’s Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reveal first look at their surprise cameos
As a gamer with a deep appreciation for musical theatre, especially the enchanting world of Oz, I must say that the recent revelation of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth‘s cameos in the movie adaptation of Wicked has sent me soaring like a monkey on a wing. Their iconic portrayals of Elphaba and Glinda on Broadway were my first real introduction to the magical world of musical theatre, and to see them return to their roles, however briefly, feels nothing short of a wondrous gift from the Wicked Witch herself.
Wicked spoilers follow.
In simple terms, “Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, who starred in Wicked, have revealed the initial glimpse of their roles in the upcoming film.
In the original Broadway production, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth portrayed Elphaba and Glinda respectively, while Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande took on these pivotal roles in the film version of the musical.
In the game of this movie, I stumbled upon some cool cameos by two familiar faces, stepping into roles within the Emerald City troupe for an electrifying musical scene.
Chenoweth and Menzel have recently posted on Instagram about their upcoming appearances, with Chenoweth sharing a collection of backstage photos featuring her fellow actors.
On a brief occasion, during the enchanting period in the Emerald City, did anyone catch Wicked at the movies over the weekend?!” she posted.
Additionally, Menzel posted a collection of images, featuring a heartwarming meet-up with Chenoweth, and penned down: “Today was extraordinary. A bond of sisterhood everywhere. #WickedMovie
Recently, Grande revealed her feelings regarding the cameos, expressing that it was an incredibly “humbling privilege” to work with Menzel and Chenoweth.
She also told People Magazine, “I’ll be contributing parts alongside them, watching them perform, and witnessing their act.
The musical “Wicked” has been a massive success at the box office since it premiered in movie theaters a week ago, breaking records as the top-grossing Broadway adaptation both domestically and abroad.

As a gamer, I can’t help but express my excitement after reading Digital Spy’s 4-star review. They mentioned that the game ‘Wicked’ cast such a powerful spell on me that instead of feeling relieved, I instantly found myself yearning to dive into part two!
