The movie featuring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande has experienced incredible success since its blockbuster premiere in November, leaving fans and critics equally amazed. Known as Wicked, the film has amassed numerous awards and holds the title of the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation in the US box office record books.
As reported by Deadline, the blockbuster directed by Jon M Chu has achieved another remarkable feat, surpassing Mamma Mia! as the global box office leader among all stage musical adaptations.
In summary, the film “Wicked” has amassed approximately $634.4 million worldwide, with $424.2 million coming from domestic box office sales and an additional $210.2 million earned internationally. Even after a long run in theaters, this weekend added another $13.7 million to its earnings from 81 markets, further solidifying its status as a successful musical production.
