As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share that the sequel to the incredibly popular 2024 musical is coming to digital platforms! From what I understand, it’ll be released in a similar way to how the first one dropped, which is great news for those of us who love watching from home.
Good news for fans! Universal Pictures just announced that Wicked: For Good will be available to stream digitally starting December 30th. Having hit theaters on November 21st, it’s arriving at the perfect time for a holiday binge – just like the first Wicked film. Get ready to fall in love with it all over again before the new year!
Versions of Wicked: For Good in 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD will be released on Jan. 20, 2026.
In a new video announcement, Cynthia Erivo, who starred as Elphaba in ‘Wicked,’ shared that fans can look forward to seeing something exciting soon. She also revealed the release will include an hour of never-before-seen deleted scenes.
Jonathan Bailey, who played Fiyero Tigelaar, explained that it was a gift from the three of them together.
Ariana Grande, who starred as Glinda, mentioned that the movie will include a sing-along version with on-screen lyrics. She also said, “There’s no place like home to watch Wicked: For Good. “
This new video-on-demand release includes two versions of the movie – one standard and an exclusive sing-along version – plus an hour of extra content. The bonus features include a 50-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, featuring interviews with stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the cast, and director Jon M. Chu. It also explores the creation of the two new songs written for the movie, “No Place Like Home” and “The Girl in the Bubble,” which weren’t in the original stage production.
The piece also features interviews with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, and concludes with an in-depth exploration of Kiamo Ko castle.

The bonus content includes:
- A Glinda train tour in which the citizens of Emerald City send Grande’s character off in style with a song as her minions, played by Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James, try to help her out by signing her autograph for fans.
- A musical montage of the Munchkins making the bricks that form the Yellow Brick Road.
- A scene in which Elphaba retreats to her lair to wrestle with Fiyero’s betrayal and her heartbreak.
- Elphaba returns to her childhood home of the Governor’s Mansion when she swore she would never go back.

You can now see Wicked: For Good in movie theaters. It will be available to rent or purchase digitally starting December 30th, and you’ll be able to buy the 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions on January 20th.
