Wicked: For Good finally confirms digital release date in the UK – and it’s very soon

Even though Wicked: For Good is still in theaters, you’ll soon be able to enjoy the enchanting story of Oz at home! The movie will be available to stream or rent before you know it, which is fantastic news for fans.

This movie is the follow-up to the popular 2024 musical fantasy, finishing the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande). Their friendship is tested, and the future of Oz and all its creatures hangs in the balance.

I’m so excited! After a huge run in cinemas – it’s already made over $500 million worldwide! – the movie is finally coming to digital platforms in the UK on January 2nd, 2026. Our friends in the US get it a little earlier, on December 30th!

You can now pre-order the musical fantasy on Amazon in Standard, High, or Ultra High Definition for £19.99. It will also be released on Apple TV, but the price there hasn’t been announced yet.

The film boasts a star-studded cast featuring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, and Colman Domingo, who recently joined the project.

The movie introduces Dorothy Gale, a character from The Wizard of Oz, into the story. Newcomer Bethany Weaver plays this famous role, marking her first appearance in a film.

The actor shared on Instagram how thrilled she was to join forces with her co-stars – @jbayleaf, @ethanslater, and @omariabernard – and even a furry friend named Oscar (who she affectionately called Toto) for their new project, playfully referencing ‘walking on the yellow brick road’ after her role was confirmed.
