WiC Weekly: September 8-14, 2024

As a seasoned gamer and fanatic of all things fantasy and sci-fi, I can confidently say that this week has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! From interviewing the legendary George R.R. Martin to keeping tabs on the latest developments in the world of Harry Potter, Outlander, The Lord of the Rings, and more, it’s a never-ending feast for the eyes (and mind)!

Every Sunday, often referred to as a day of rest or even Satan’s day, we take you through the most significant stories from the past week right here on WinterIsComing.net. This platform is all about sci-fi, fantasy, movies, books, and TV shows, and we love sharing these with you. One exciting opportunity we had this week was interviewing George R.R. Martin, the author of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” who has been making headlines quite frequently lately.

Another big piece of news involved HBO starting up casting on its Harry Potter TV show:

The latter portion of Season 7 of “Outlander” is set to arrive, approximately a year following the premiere. Is it still appropriate to refer to these as two separate halves? Regardless, there are numerous fresh images available for viewing.

Regarding George R.R. Martin, he’s recently been quite vocal – and deliberately silent at times – about the television adaptations based on his works, in addition to his continuous efforts on “The Winds of Winter”: a topic that seems to be occupying much of his discourse.

Somehow, the George R.R. Martin-vs-House of the Dragon drama simply will not end:

This week marks another installment of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”. In this episode, we had a chat with actor Trystane Gravelle regarding the development of his character, Pharazôn.

Currently, we find ourselves in the extended period of no new episodes for House of the Dragon. However, lead actor Tom Glynn-Carney (as Aegon Targaryen) is keeping our spirits up by sharing glimpses of light.

Prior to the third season of “House of the Dragon”, we’ll get a chance to watch the initial season of the newly developed “Game of Thrones” prequel, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”. The release date seems more imminent than ever.

Let’s return to that George R.R. Martin drama to end the day. Here’s our non-illustrated guide:

Speaking of George R.R. Martin, we got to interview the man in a wide-ranging talk about his career!
