WiC Weekly: August 25 - 31, 2024

As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of all things fantasy, I must say this week has been quite the rollercoaster ride! The second season of “The Rings of Power” is off to a bold start, with its captivating visuals and somewhat mediocre drama thus far.

Kick-off our discussions with “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which launched its second season this week. Instead of weekly releases, the initial trio of episodes became available simultaneously on Thursday. Here’s what we think so far:

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but share my excitement over the recent updates from George R.R. Martin, the mastermind behind “A Song of Ice and Fire.” Naturally, his latest word about “The Winds of Winter” has piqued our interest, and we can’t wait to see what he’ll unveil next!

Inquiring about Martin’s thoughts, what indications does he give regarding the adaptations made to his book “Fire & Blood” in the second season of “House of the Dragon”? Simply put, what are his subtle hints or suggestions about his feelings towards these changes?

For the past two years, the Jurassic Park/World series has had a pause. Now seems like the perfect moment to reintroduce it!

As a dedicated Outlander fan, I can’t help but feel an eager anticipation for the second half of Season 7, which is yet to grace our screens. But even more so, my heart skips a beat thinking about the epic eighth and final season that lies ahead. As for my own locks, they’re standing tall in solidarity with Claire and Jamie, ready to ride the rollercoaster of emotions all over again!

Whether this is a funny or frustrating Game of Thrones story is up to you:

Regarding the TV show “The Rings of Power”, it’s worth mentioning that the character of Adar has been replaced by a different actor. But why is this the case?

There’s a new Brandon Sanderson book on the way! Check out the cover of Wind and Truth:

There’s a great AMC that just became available on Netflix: Dark Winds.

Lastly, George R.R. Martin has pledged to disclose all that’s amiss with “House of the Dragon“, and truth be told, that seems quite foreboding.
