Why Yung Miami stayed mum on ex Sean 'Diddy' Combs' abuse: 'That wasn't my experience'

As a follower who has witnessed the rise and fall of many celebrities, I can’t help but feel a pang of empathy for Yung Miami. She found herself entangled in the complex web of Diddy’s life, a man she met in an era when he was the epitome of success and charisma. It’s not hard to see how one could be drawn into his orbit.

Rap artist Yung Miami explains her reasons for remaining quiet amidst growing accusations of sexual misconduct and abuse levied against her former partner, Sean “Puff Daddy” (or “Diddy”) Combs.

Yung Miami, part of the City Girls hip-hop duo, looked back at her connection with the now-controversial figure in the music and beverage industry, stating that they crossed paths during a different phase of his existence.

“Diddy, or as he’s known now by his real name, Caresha Brownlee, I met him during the time when people were honoring him and showering him with praise while he was still alive, as shared in a recent episode of her ‘Caresha Please’ podcast on Revolt.”

30-year-old Yung Miami and 54-year-old Diddy initially fueled dating speculation in 2021, but they officially confirmed their relationship in June 2022. During a recent episode, Yung Miami stated, “When I started seeing him, he was just an ordinary man.” She also mentioned that she played a part in elevating Diddy’s numerous business endeavors, including his Revolt media company, to even greater heights.

“She confided in her friend and music artist Saucy Santana that when he found me, he discovered a unique potential within me,” she shared.

In April 2023, Yung Miami announced she and Diddy had broken up, but mentioned that they still maintained a friendly relationship. A few months later, multiple women made serious accusations of sex trafficking and sexual assault against Diddy, the founder of Bad Boy Records. One of his accusers was his long-term partner Cassie Ventura. In response to these allegations, as presented in Ventura’s lawsuit filed in November 2023, Diddy denied any wrongdoing. The lawsuit was settled just a day after it had been filed.

Ventura’s lawsuit set off a chain of legal troubles for Combs. Earlier this year, he encountered multiple lawsuits, one from producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, and both his Los Angeles and Miami residences were searched by Homeland Security as part of an extensive investigation into sex trafficking allegations.

In May 2016, CNN released a shocking hotel surveillance video showing Diddy (Combs) attacking Ventura violently. This incident has raised questions about Combs’ credibility. The footage sparked reactions from many in his inner circle, such as Misa Hylton, the mother of his firstborn son. However, Yung Miami remained silent on the matter.

“She stated on Thursday that she’s not qualified to comment on matters she hasn’t personally encountered, as they fall outside her knowledge. Specifically, since she was not present during the events in question, she can’t address the allegations.”

She expressed that it seemed as though everyone was attempting to blame or punish her for her association with Combs, and when the accusations were made, she felt the need to step back and concentrate on matters of priority.

In my movie review, I’d say something like: “As the mother of two, I felt it was best to allow him to find his way and learn from his experiences, rather than intervene.” This maintains the first-person perspective while also making the sentence more conversational and easy to understand.

The artist known as “CFWM” or “Don’t Play With It” shared that she has faced violence in past relationships and made it clear that she strongly opposes domestic violence.
