Why There’s No Tracker Tonight (May 31) & When New Episodes Release

A new episode of Tracker won’t air tonight, May 31, 2026, due to CBS’s schedule. The show, starring Justin Hartley, quickly became popular when it debuted in 2024, and it’s continued to perform well in the 2025-2026 television season, even with a lot of competition. Remarkably, it’s maintained its audience despite significant changes to the cast and Colter Shaw’s team. After saying goodbye to Teddi, Velma, and Bobby, Colter now works with Reenie, Randy, and the newest member, Mel.

Colter Hartley, even while working from a distance, has been relying on new friends each week to help him survive. Season 3 of Tracker brought back familiar faces like Billie Matalon, John Keaton, and Russell Shaw (played by Jensen Ackles) several times. The season finale, “The Best Ones,” ended with some unresolved questions but also revealed important details about Colter’s past, leaving fans eager to see what he does next.

Tracker Season 3 Is Officially Over

The third season of Tracker finished airing on May 24, 2026, following the usual television schedule. Most other scripted shows on network TV ended much earlier – some as early as March. CBS saved the season finales of its most popular shows for May, and Tracker was one of the last to conclude. Unlike many shows with 18-20 episodes, Tracker’s third season had 22. Because the show experienced very few interruptions during the year, it was able to air all episodes without issue.

Tonight, CBS will be re-airing episode 12, “Do No Harm,” from season 3 of Tracker between 9 and 10 PM Eastern Time. This is a smart way to keep the show visible, as it may attract both current viewers and new ones. Those new viewers might then decide to watch the entire series on Paramount+ and catch up before the next season begins.

When Tracker Season 3 Will Release (& What To Expect)

Given the popularity of the show, it’s no surprise CBS renewed Tracker for a fourth season way back in January 2026. Unless ratings drop significantly – which doesn’t seem likely – the network plans to keep the series on the air for the foreseeable future. This is fantastic news for Justin Hartley and the entire production team. However, the show will likely evolve with some changes as it moves forward. Like most of CBS’s popular shows, season 4 of Tracker will premiere this fall, though a specific date hasn’t been revealed yet.

As expected, the season 3 finale of Tracker successfully wrapped up the long-running mystery surrounding the Shaw family – the central story of the series. With that resolved, the show can now focus on new storylines. The finale, “The Best Ones,” began setting up these new directions, including Russell’s latest project, which aims to protect Colter’s hidden past involving Ashton. In addition, season 4 of Tracker will be filmed in Los Angeles instead of Vancouver, thanks to significant tax incentives. While this change probably won’t drastically alter the show, it does give Colter a more established home base and opens up possibilities for future stories.
