Her new Netflix show, “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen,” has gained her a lot of new followers.

The scary new series has quickly become very popular, featuring Camila Morrone as a woman preparing to get married.

Aptly titled, it refers to the overwhelmingly ominous feeling throughout the series. 

Camila became well-known thanks to her book, Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, but her journey to success has actually been quite fortunate – the opposite of what her book predicts.

Growing up in Beverly Hills, surrounded by famous actors and celebrities, it felt almost inevitable that Camila would become famous herself.

The 28-year-old actress comes from a family of performers; her parents, Maximo Morrone and Lucila Solá, are both actors. They relocated to Los Angeles just before she was born.

Lucila’s parents separated in 2006, and she then dated actor Al Pacino for four years. Her daughter, Camila, still considers Pacino her stepfather.

Camila quickly found herself socializing with famous celebrities, something she’d grown used to – she’d even mentioned casually seeing stars like Brad Pitt at her neighborhood cafe.

She’s become close friends with a group of famous women, including Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, and Suki Waterhouse, who she affectionately refers to as her ‘besties’.

Camila is well-known not only because of her family, but also for her past relationship with actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who is 51 years old.

Camila met Leonardo in 2008 when she was 12 years old. She is 23 years younger than him, and they were introduced by a mutual friend, Al, who has known Leonardo for many years.

Leonardo DiCaprio, known for his role in The Revenant, had been friends with Camila Morrone’s family for several years before they started dating about ten years ago.

The couple dated for four years and broke up in 2022, shortly after the woman celebrated her 25th birthday.

The actress is dating Cole Bennett, a 29-year-old music video director and record executive who is reportedly very wealthy thanks to his successful career.

But Camila says she has fought hard to get to the place she is now.

Looking back on the last ten years, Camila shared that she’s incredibly proud of how far she’s come, noting that her life was very different a decade ago.

Camila, even while going to the well-known Beverly Hills High School, witnessed her parents’ financial difficulties. This hardship almost led her to give up on pursuing an acting career.

She shared with the Los Angeles Times that watching her parents struggle financially as actors throughout their lives discouraged her from pursuing the same career path.

The uncertainty of being an actor – constantly worrying about money – was really stressful. I decided I wanted a more stable life, so I planned to go to college and get a regular, full-time job.

‘And of course, I ended up exactly like them.’ 

Camila began her career as a model before becoming an actress. She made her film debut in 2013 with the movie Bukowski.

Oh my gosh, after that, she was in Death Wish – can you believe it?! – and then she did these amazing indie films, Never Goin’ Back and Mickey and the Bear. I tracked down Mickey and the Bear just to see her, and it was incredible. Seriously, she’s just so talented in everything she does!

In 2023, she received an Emmy nomination for her role as Camila Dunne in the Amazon Prime series, Daisy Jones & The Six.

People are currently celebrating her performance in “Something Very Good Is Going To Happen,” which has received positive reviews, earning an 86% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Haley Z. Boston created the new miniseries, and the Duffer Brothers, known for their work on Stranger Things, were executive producers.

The film’s cast features Jennifer Jason Leigh, who has been nominated for an Oscar, and Ted Levine, known for his role in ‘The Silence of the Lambs’.

Camila had gained some recognition through her relationship with Leonardo, but instead of relying on his fame, it motivated her to establish herself as a talented actress.

Camila explained in an interview with The Times that actors inevitably face public scrutiny of their private lives.

It’s just part of living in Hollywood – things change quickly, and you get used to it. Growing up there, I was always around famous people. Seeing someone like Brad Pitt at a coffee shop is pretty normal if you live in LA.

According to a source at E! News, the couple’s busy schedules and frequent travel were major factors in their breakup. Being apart so much put a strain on the relationship.

According to another source, there wasn’t any animosity between the two, and the relationship just ended naturally.

Camila Dunne was another memorable character in the Amazon Prime series, Daisy Jones & The Six.

That’s where she became close friends with actress Suki, and they’ve been practically inseparable ever since – they even celebrated Adele’s birthday together.

Rhode founder Hailey is another A-lister in Camila’s circle.

Last summer, a group of friends, including model Kaia, took a yacht trip. Camila shared lots of sunset photos from the trip on her Instagram.

Camila shared that she’s very close to her friends, especially Suki Waterhouse, who she considers like a sister.

It’s tough to compare ourselves to women like Suki and Kaia, who are constantly busy with tours and various projects. And then there’s Hailey Bieber, who’s balancing family life with running a hugely successful business.

Camila leveraged her connections in the entertainment industry to contact the director of The Night Manager, hoping to land a part in the show’s second season.

She openly admitted to contacting a director repeatedly via email, even going so far as to send them a fictional story expressing her feelings for one of the characters.

As soon as I heard they were making a second season, I inquired about any parts for women. They were considering actresses in their mid-thirties.

I was thrilled when I learned they needed someone to play a Latin character – it felt like the role was written specifically for me!

The series, featuring Tom Hiddleston and based on John Le Carré’s 1993 novel, quickly became popular after it first aired in 2016.

Camila has taken over the role previously played by Elizabeth Debicki, who first gained recognition as the love interest of the main character before becoming famous for portraying Princess Diana in The Crown.
