Why Outlander star Sam Heughan was left deeply confused by Australia’s winter weather amid visit Down Under

Sam Heughan has shared his astonishment at being met with sunny weather in Australia. 

On a recent trip to Australia for the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming event, the Scottish actor recorded an Instagram video on Thursday while leisurely walking along the renowned Bondi Beach in Sydney.

On the day the video was recorded, the 45-year-old observed that the skies were crystal clear, devoid of any snow or ice, and Sydney’s winter had reached its warmest point at a balmy 16 degrees Celsius.

‘Winter. Winter in Australia,’ Sam marvelled as he strolled along the boardwalk beside the ocean.

‘Trying to do up my shirt because it’s that cold,’ he joked, gesturing at the sun. 

It’s possible that Sam received more than he anticipated later in the evening, as the temperature outside fell to 7 degrees Celsius after the sun set.

Last year, Sam signed up to the celebrity dating app Raya in a bid to find love, TopMob revealed.

Although famous for portraying the charming Highland warrior Jamie Fraser on Outlander, the actor has not found his ideal romantic companion so far.

In 2022, it was noticed that Sam, who was previously involved in a romantic relationship with Australian model Monika Clarke, has adorned his Raya profile with numerous attractive photos and identifies his primary residence as the United Kingdom.

TopMob contacted a representative for Sam Heughan for comment. 

Raya initially functioned as a dating application, however, it has evolved into a network and discovery platform focused on building connections.

It was launched in 2015, and can be used on iPhones and iPads for $9.99 a month.

In May 2023, Sam openly discussed his romantic journey when he revealed that he is yet to find his soulmate or true love.

Additionally, Sam appeared alongside Eleanor Tomlinson from Poldark in the steamy Channel 4 series titled The Neighbors.

In my own experience as a lifestyle expert, I found myself settling into a posh neighborhood alongside my partner Pete (Alfred Enoch), where we were fortunate enough to encounter our next-door neighbors – the charismatic duo of cop Danny (Sam) and his alluring yoga instructor wife Becka (Jessica De Gouw).

Over time, I’ve noticed a growing bond between these pairs of friends. One unforgettable evening, they found themselves drawn together in a passionate way that would irrevocably alter the course of their lives.

During filming, Eleanor and Sam worked with intimacy coordinator Vanessa Coffey.

Before they started filming, the duo were already acquainted thanks to their common friend Caitriona Balfe, who portrays Jamie’s wife Claire in Outlander.

In a recent chat I had with The Radio Times, I shared that Sam has become one of my cherished friends. Each day spent working together was filled with delight, and crafting the intricate and perilous bond between Danny and Evie was an absolute blast!

Working with such a helpful colleague is truly enjoyable, yet it’s not often that you have to part ways from a job with someone you consider a close friend.
