The ‘feud’ between the stars of KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show has a fresh twist.
People familiar with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson say it’s still unclear what caused the argument that led to them losing their $100 million deal.
As a long-time listener, I was really shocked to hear that Jackie Henderson left KIIS FM. Apparently, she told the station’s owners, ARN, that she just couldn’t continue working with Kyle Sandilands after a disagreement they had on air on February 20th. Sadly, that led to ARN ending her contract, which is a real loss for the show.
Sources now suggest that Sandilands, age 54, wasn’t informed about the conversations between Henderson and ARN before Henderson’s surprising announcement.
According to a source who spoke with news.com.au on Tuesday, Jackie continues to focus on her belief that ARN didn’t handle the situation well, but she hasn’t specified what she actually said or didn’t say about it.
Okay, so everyone’s saying they’re still friends, which, honestly, doesn’t really explain things, does it? And the really frustrating part is, there’s absolutely no proof she even got anything in writing saying she couldn’t work with him anymore. It’s all just… speculation! I need answers! It’s just so weird that there’s no official record of anything. I’m obsessed with knowing what really happened!
According to the source, Henderson’s friend and manager, Gemma O’Neill, handled the discussions with ARN after Henderson abruptly left his show last month, following a disagreement with Sandilands.
The report suggests Henderson’s comments about Sandilands likely came up either in an email or during a conversation.
This news follows reports about Kyle Sandilands‘ $88 million lawsuit against ARN, the radio network that ended his contract last Wednesday.
The once-dominant figure in television ratings is suing the major media company for a large sum of money in federal court.
Sandilands was first suspended earlier this month due to ‘serious misconduct,’ and has now been fired after a public argument with Henderson on the air.
According to a source, Sandilands plans to argue in his defense that ARN management never cautioned him about his on-air interactions with his co-host.
Sandilands will also claim that the network ‘promoted’ their notorious on-air brawls.
According to a source who spoke to news.com.au on Monday, there were absolutely no warnings – not official ones, and not even casual heads-ups.
ARN actively shared this type of content, breaking it down for social media and broadcasting it across their platforms, according to sources.
The report states that Sandilands and his lawyers are reviewing recordings of The Kyle and Jackie O Show to demonstrate that arguments between the pair were common and typical.
A source shared that Sandilands is regularly submitting bills to ARN, claiming his dismissal was unfair and taken advantage of.
According to a source, ARN and Sandilands aren’t going to try to resolve their dispute through legal mediation. The radio personality reportedly feels his firing wasn’t justified.
With strong legal representation, Sandilands alleges that ARN intentionally worked to undermine his ten-year, $100 million contract as a way to get out of the deal after only a little over a year.
According to The Australian, Sandilands is being represented by Kevin Lynch, a partner at Johnson Winter Slattery, who is known as a highly aggressive and effective lawyer.
As a lifestyle strategist, I’ve spent the last couple of weeks really diving deep into the host agreement – every single clause, every nuance. And based on that, I’ve developed a really solid plan to address the issues with ARN. It’s a comprehensive approach, and I’m confident it will be effective.
He filed the necessary papers on Friday.
