Why Mastermind isn’t on tonight as BBC changes schedule

As a devoted fan of Mastermind, I must admit that this week’s absence has left me feeling like a contestant stranded without their lifeline. It’s been akin to facing a question round without my trusted specialist subject – a daunting prospect indeed!

Viewers who enjoy watching Mastermind were once again let down as the BBC’s quiz program missed its scheduled airing for a second consecutive week.

This week’s scheduled event (September 9) was pushed back as well, due to last week’s postponement. In its usual time slot of 7pm on BBC Two, the network aired a highlights show – Today at the Test – for the third test cricket match between England and Sri Lanka instead.

Last Thursday (September 3), it was shared through the official social media platforms of the quiz show that they will be airing the series again starting from September 16.

According to Kate Phillips, BBC’s Director of Entertainment, “Clive will make an excellent host; he’s quick-witted, insightful, and has a sharp sense of humor. He is a seasoned questioner who also empathizes with the anxiety that comes when one is under scrutiny in the limelight.
