Though it’s only two episodes into its second season, Return to Paradise is already taking a short break and won’t be airing a new episode tonight. The show is a spin-off of Death in Paradise.
The usual Friday 8pm showing of the program has been moved to make way for Children in Need, which starts tonight at 7pm and runs until 10pm on BBC One. This year’s special will feature Pudsey and friends, and be hosted by Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Paddy McGuinness, Lenny Rush, and Big Zuu.
The show will feature a variety of comedy sketches, performances, and memorable moments (according to the BBC), all to raise money for children and young people in need across the UK.

As a big fan of the show, I was worried Children in Need might mess with the usual schedule! But thankfully, it’s just a one-off special, and everything will be back to normal next week on Friday, November 21st. Phew!
At the end of the last season of Return to Paradise, DI Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson) was struggling with whether to go to her ex-fiancé Glenn’s (Tai Hara) wedding while also dealing with what she believes is unreturned affection.
Before the new season began, stars Samson and Hara hinted that the romantic tension between their characters would be even stronger this season.

In an interview with Digital Spy, actress Sharon Samson explained what’s in store for her character Mackenzie’s relationship with Glenn in the second season. She said the tension and potential for romance between them will become even stronger, pushing them to both the brink of getting together and falling apart.
The entire series builds towards Glenn’s wedding, creating a lot of tension and uncertainty about whether the relationship will actually happen.
Throughout the series, everyone keeps wondering if the wedding will actually happen, and if Daisy and Glenn will stay together. Mackenzie feels this tension building constantly, becoming increasingly anxious, and the audience also senses that something is leading up to the wedding.
Hara explained to Digital Spy that the situation is becoming increasingly complex and confusing, with everything becoming more involved.
Return to Paradise is available to watch on BBC on Fridays at 8pm and BBC iPlayer.
