Why Final Destination: Bloodlines changed its “sad” original ending

The co-director of “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” Adam Stein, has revealed the reason behind altering the movie’s initially “somber” conclusion.

In simpler terms, the director shared with ScreenRant that the script for the latest addition to the long-standing horror series, released after a nearly 15-year gap, underwent numerous revisions before the final version that hit theaters was decided upon.

“We explored every different possibility,” he said.

It appears that an initial version of the script concluded with Stefani entering the cabin and deciding to spend the remainder of her life within it, safeguarding Charlie.

In the end, there was a sense of sadness that pervaded. It was almost as if saying, “Ah, now I understand. She is the new Iris. She’ll spend her entire life in the cabin, shielding her younger sibling.

He mentioned that the suggested conclusion had a certain emotional logic, yet it might not have provided a pleasurable viewing experience.

He expressed that the ending seemed more somber and wistful than appropriate for “Final Destination”, as it should have left people feeling uplifted and cheerful instead.
