Why Doctor Who’s “terrifying” finale this weekend is going to ‘really shock’ fans

Actress Millie Gibson, known for her role in Doctor Who, hinted that viewers will find the Season 15 finale of this sci-fi series genuinely surprising. In this climactic episode, The Doctor and their companions confront an extremely menacing adversary.

Last week, in the episode titled ‘Wish World,’ The Rani unveiled her grand scheme to liberate Omega, a founding member of Time Lord society, from the under-verse. She intends to do so by leveraging the Doctor’s uncertainty to shatter the Wish World.

It’s been verified that Omega will make an appearance in the final episode of the season, known as ‘The Reality War’. This episode is scheduled to be aired this coming Saturday, May 31st.

During an interview with Radio Times, the actress portraying Ruby Sunday expressed, “He’s quite scary… I believe the audience will find this surprising.

I find Archie remarkably fascinating, much like how Rani adores Omega. To me, their relationship as villains is quite intriguing, and I look forward to seeing more of it.

She noted, “The reason this confrontation is so significant for the Doctor is because he must vanquish not one, but two of his most formidable adversaries.

In addition, Gibson mentioned that the upcoming episode will feature Ruby embarking on a quest to apprehend her former boyfriend Conrad (Jonah Hauer-King), who has been exposed as an accomplice of the extremist group ‘Think Tank’. Conrad manipulated his relationship with Ruby to gain access to UNIT, with the ultimate goal of revealing their secrets.

Ruby aims to defeat Conrad, but it remains to be seen if she succeeds in this endeavor,” Gibson hinted.

She went on to say: “But I believe that by sparing him in episode four and defeating the Shreek instead, it feels like another painful blow that he’s now fabricated this entire realm where he rules supreme. It’s akin to discovering your former partner holding a position of power such as Prime Minister. The thought is simply dreadful.

Without a doubt, it’s her moment to seek retribution fully. However, whether she manages to carry out this action remains to be seen.

Currently, showrunner Russell T Davies referred to the upcoming finale as a significant “full circle” event. He mentioned that he has been strategically incorporating aspects from Ncuti Gatwa’s tenure as The Doctor into various episodes leading up to this moment.

The themes introduced in the first episode of season 14, titled ‘The Church on Ruby Road’, are effectively resolved. This proves satisfying for dedicated fans while also engaging those who are just starting to watch.
