Why Bridget Jones star Leo Woodall’s pool scene left co-stars green with envy

In a new, major film appearance, Leo Woodall graces our screens once more in “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” and there’s one specific scene that had his fellow cast members feeling quite envious.

In the latest film, we find ourselves reconnecting with Bridget Jones, portrayed by Renée Zellweger, as she dives back into the world of dating following Mark Darcy’s (Colin Firth) demise. One of her prospective partners, Woodall’s Roxster, swipes right on Tinder after saving Bridget from a tree predicament.

However, the situation portrays Roxster leaping into a pool in his clothes to rescue a canine, leaving his fellow actors envious and wishing they could be him instead.

He shared with Digital Spy that everyone was quite envious since it was scorching hot outside, and everyone was dressed up either in gowns or suits, sweating profusely, while he was having fun splashing around in a swimming pool.

I felt quite fortunate. The experience was enjoyable with a delightful atmosphere throughout. Caring for that small, unfortunate dog somehow made me feel like a hero, which I’m more than happy to accept. All in all, it was a fun time.

Just as it often happens in a Bridget Jones film, Roxster finds himself vying for Bridget’s affections against Mr. Wallaker, a teacher at her kids’ school, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.

However, should a hypothetical confrontation arise between Roxster and Mr. Wallaker, much like the characters in Bridget Jones might predict, Woodall and Ejiofor are certain about who would emerge victorious.

As a gamer, I’d say, “His whistle is quite the distraction, laughingly noted. If I were to land a punch, it’d bounce right off that whistle instead!

Before the premiere, I, an ardent admirer, had the pleasure of hearing from Renée Zellweger as she shared with Digital Spy the valuable life lessons she’s gleaned from embodying the iconic character, Bridget Jones.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is released in UK cinemas and on Peacock in the US on February 13.
