The stars of the movie Bridesmaids got back together at the Oscars to present an award, and they were a big hit with the audience. However, one of the original cast members wasn’t there. Fans are still hoping for a second Bridesmaids movie.
Rose Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, and Ellie Kemper all appeared on stage together. Wendi McClendon-Covey, who played Rita on the show, wasn’t there, but everything is friendly between them – there’s no bad blood.
Hey everyone, I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking what happened at the Oscars, so I wanted to fill you in! I actually had a neck lift last week. Honestly, I was just feeling like my neck wasn’t looking its best – I know it sounds silly, but I felt like a melting candle! Because of the timing, I had to miss the awards show, but everything went really well and there’s absolutely no drama. I’m doing great!

Even though one bridesmaid couldn’t make it, the cast still had a funny reunion where they read comments sent in by viewers. Maya Rudolph shared one from Stellan Skarsgård saying they were all aging gracefully, and he playfully reacted to it from the audience.
Okay, so during the show, Rose read a note supposedly from Leonardo DiCaprio – it was hilarious! It said, ‘Rose, can you please stop looking at me? The eye contact is too much. I’m thinking of leaving. I’m very uncomfortable.’ Leo and Alexander Skarsgård were totally playing into the bit, and Leo even pointed playfully when ‘reading’ it. It was a really funny moment!

Even Jacobi Jupe, who starred in Hamnet, joined in the playful atmosphere. Kemper read a final message supposedly from him: “I’m tired and want to go home. This show is really long, and there’s no pizza.” Kemper then added, “He’s right.”
We can all relate to that. You can watch the brilliant full segment here.

The cast of Bridesmaids weren’t the only familiar faces back together at the Oscars this year. We also saw popular pairs like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor, who starred together in Moulin Rouge. (Unfortunately, there wasn’t a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.)
Billy Crystal became visibly emotional while honoring director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, during the In Memoriam segment. He was joined by Meg Ryan, and the tribute also featured Rachel McAdams remembering Catherine O’Hara and Diane Keaton, as well as Barbra Streisand honoring Robert Redford.
Bridesmaids is available to watch now on Prime Video.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
