Apple TV has renewed its sci-fi drama For All Mankind for a sixth season, which will be its last. The show is Apple TV’s longest-running series, tied with The Morning Show.
The fifth season of For All Mankind will begin streaming on March 27th, and the spin-off series Star City will follow on May 29th.
Ronald D Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, the show’s creators, announced the news and expressed their gratitude to Apple TV for allowing them to complete the series as they originally intended.

The creators of For All Mankind released a statement saying they’re grateful for the chance to tell the story they envisioned over six seasons and are excited to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.
As a huge fan, I’m just so thrilled with how amazing this series turned out! I’m really thankful to Apple TV and Sony Pictures Television for supporting the show and letting it have the ending it deserved.

In an interview with Variety, Wolpert revealed that the show’s sixth season will finally bring the story up to the 2020s, which had been a long-term goal for the creators.
From the start, our goal was to tell a story that would reach the present day, although we weren’t sure how long it would take, explained Wolpert.
We aimed to show how things changed starting in 1969, and how different today’s world might be if we had continued to prioritize advancement and innovation as a society.

Nedivi explained that their plans for the sixth and final season haven’t changed much from their original vision for how the show would end, even after Moore’s departure.
It’s amazing how much we’ve stuck to the original plan Ron and I created at the beginning of this project, even now.
Reaching this point is an achievement in itself. But it’s also important to acknowledge that while we initially had a plan, things have inevitably changed – we’ve shifted direction, abandoned some ideas, and unfortunately, lost team members along the way.
We’re still going strong on this adventure, and honestly, it’s been amazing so far. I have a feeling the finale is going to be truly special!
The highly anticipated series For All Mankind is back on Apple TV starting March 27th, with new episodes released every Friday. Look out for the premiere of Star City on May 29th.
