Why 90 Day Hunt For Love Will Change How You View the Franchise Forever

As a dedicated fan of “90 Day Fiancé”, I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow when the new series “90 Day: Hunt For Love” was announced. The idea of familiar cast members socializing at a resort and trying to find love with other singles seemed like a significant departure from the TLC franchise that I adore. However, after watching the trailer for this show, which is set to premiere in May on the 2025 TV schedule, I am now fully on board for a specific reason.

Get ready for May 26th as eight well-known figures, some of whom were part of 90 Day couples who ended their marriages, embark on a journey to Mexico for several weeks filled with parties, social events, and singles connecting in an all-new spin on 90 Day. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek:

Initially, I thought I had no interest in watching the 90 Day stars socializing and dating casually. However, this trailer convinced me that my initial assumption was incorrect.

The idea that fresh singles are being introduced into the cast adds an element of authenticity to the show’s romantic storylines, making it less likely that we’re witnessing pre-scripted relationships between cast members. This change has significantly altered my viewpoint on this program. Moreover, the fast-approaching romance seems particularly engaging, offering a level of drama in the love department that typically isn’t present on shows like 90 Day Fiancé.

90 Day Fiancé viewers might be taken aback by certain characters’ appearances, especially those unfamiliar with Colt Johnson’s recent transformation following his leg recovery. To help familiarize yourself with the cast, here’s a quick overview of who’s featured in this episode:

  • Chantel Everett
  • Tim Malcolm
  • Colt Johnson
  • Rob Warne
  • Tiffany Franco
  • Cortney Reardanz
  • Jennifer Tarazona
  • Usman Umar

It appears Rob Warne is transitioning from the “90 Day Diaries” series to “90 Day: Hunt For Love,” suggesting he could become a regular in the TLC franchise. Chantel Everett and Tim Malcolm have been around for a while, and I must admit, I’m beginning to wonder if Tim genuinely intends to pursue long-term relationships with anyone.

It was unexpected to find Usman Umar among the participants, as I had heard that he was in a new relationship recently. It seems likely that his previous situation didn’t last, and he’s now single again, possibly seeking someone more his own age. Unlike his past partners on “90 Day Fiancé,” this person might be closer to Usman’s age.

90 Day: Hunt For Love seems quite similar to The Last Resort, except it lacks the intense relationship-saving drama. My main issue with the former is that it blended party scenes into couples therapy excessively, which seemed contradictory to the goals of the participants. In contrast, this new spinoff features singles eager for romance, and the partying depicted in the trailer doesn’t appear as a hindrance. I’m really looking forward to seeing it!

Don’t miss out on the debut of “90 Day: Hunt For Love” on TLC, airing on Monday, May 26th at 8:00 p.m. ET. Fingers crossed that it lives up to its promising trailer and we get even more exciting episodes soon!
