Who won Eurovision 2025?
2025’s Eurovision champion has been declared, and it’s Austria’s JJ who took the top spot in this year’s competition.
In tonight’s (17th of May) grand finale, the Austrian performance emerged victorious, amassing a total of 436 points from both public and jury votes, making it the act leading the leaderboard in this competition involving 26 other acts vying for the title of Eurovision champion.
Johannes Pietsch, originally known as JJ, boasts a classical singing background. He graced the stage of The Voice UK back in 2020, and before that, he had the privilege to perform at the prestigious Vienna State Opera.

In a fusion of classical vocal training and a fast-paced melody laden with poignant words about unfulfilled affection, his song ‘Wasted Love’ secured Austria the victory in this year’s music competition.
In a deeply moving address, JJ expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Europe, thanking them profoundly and sincerely as they celebrated their victory with the Eurovision trophy.
In the thrilling culmination, it was Yuval Raphael from Israel who secured the runner-up position, amassing 357 points. His captivating ballad titled ‘A New Day Will Rise’ was the performance of choice.
In the competition, Estonia finished in third position, earning 356 points for its unique interpretation of the song “Espresso Macchiato,” performed by Tommy Cash.
In the end, the UK finished in 19th position, featuring girl group Remember Monday singing their unique blend of music titled ‘What The Hell Just Happened’. They garnered 88 points from the jury’s votes, but regrettably, they received no points at all from the public vote.
Earlier, when discussing their participation in the Eurovision final, Remember stated: “We can barely believe it! ‘What The Hell Just Happened’ perfectly describes our current feelings. It’s all quite unreal; our friendship has a long history, and we never thought we’d be doing something like this.
If you’re a child and someone asks about your future aspirations, one typical answer might be “I want to become a pop star.” So, it’s astonishingly amazing for us, who are three close friends, to find ourselves in the position where we can actually realize that childhood dream.
