The first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new film, The Odyssey, is here! It gives us a glimpse of the famous characters from Homer’s story and the incredible actors who play them.
A striking figure appears briefly at the start of The Odyssey trailer: a large soldier in dark armor standing before Matt Damon’s character, Odysseus. This is Agamemnon, the leader of the Greek army that won the Trojan War. However, the actor playing Agamemnon is mostly hidden by a heavy helmet.
The Odyssey’s Agamemnon Is Played By Benny Safdie
The person wearing the striking headgear is Benny Safdie, a filmmaker known for directing acclaimed movies like Uncut Gems and Good Time with his brother Josh. In 2025, Benny Safdie directed The Smashing Machine on his own, featuring Dwayne Johnson as MMA fighter Mark Kerr.
Benny Safdie is quickly becoming known for his roles in films like Licorice Pizza, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Happy Gilmore 2, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
