Who is Angelina Kendall? How an Aussie from Wagga Wagga ended up modelling for Victoria’s Secret – and why she’s called ‘Baby Gisele’

Although she’s not widely known yet, Angelina Kendall has modeled for major brands like Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Victoria’s Secret.

The 20-year-old Australian model from Wagga Wagga made a stunning first appearance at the yearly lingerie show in New York on Wednesday, joining stars like Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski.

Angelina looked stunning in delicate lace and pretty pink floral accents, showcasing her toned legs, slim figure, and natural beauty.

Even though British Vogue has already tipped her as a future supermodel, she actually comes from a very ordinary background.

Born in New South Wales to a father from New Zealand and a mother from Brazil, Angelina’s heritage is a blend of cultures, according to a UK magazine.

I had a pretty active childhood, bouncing between the beach life of Sydney’s Northern Beaches and the country air of Wagga Wagga. I was always outdoors – surfing was a big part of it, and I also played a lot of Oztag. Interestingly, I actually dreamed of becoming a doctor back then! It feels like a different life now, but those experiences definitely shaped who I am today.

She traded her ordinary life for the exciting world of fashion after agent Simone Hellicar discovered her on Instagram during the pandemic, according to British Vogue.

Angelina first suspected a scam, but she ended up connecting with and signing with Simone’s agency, The Scouted. This led to her working with some of the biggest names in fashion.

I’m absolutely captivated by Angelina! She’s really hit the big time, and honestly, seeing her – with her beautiful tan, blonde hair, and amazing figure – reminds me so much of those classic supermodels from the early 2000s. She just has that same incredible presence.

People often compare her to Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, and she even shares a connection with Gisele, having also walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Regarding this year’s lingerie show, Angelina wasn’t the only Australian model who walked the runway on Wednesday.

Models Adut Akech, originally from Adelaide, and Abény Nhial from Queensland both walked the runway at the Victoria’s Secret show in New York.

Adut turned up the heat as she wore an all-red dress covered in rhinestones and lace.

The model posed for the camera, looking glamorous and highlighting her fit figure and beautiful features.

Abény wore a white T-shirt that playfully stated ‘very sexy’ and paired it with boxer shorts.

She completed the lingerie set with thigh-high stockings and sparkly silver bangles on her arms.

The model looked stunning with her hair styled in waves, and she confidently posed for the photo with her hands on her hips.

For many years, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was a highly anticipated and glamorous event in the fashion world.

The show began in 1995 and quickly became popular, featuring many of the world’s top models.

By 2001, the show was televised live, attracting millions of viewers each year who enjoyed watching the beautiful models and famous performers.

As a lifestyle expert, I remember when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was *the* event. But things really shifted in 2019. After over twenty years, the show was cancelled following a huge backlash. People were rightfully calling out the brand for not representing a variety of body types, and it all came to a head after some really insensitive comments from their then-chief marketing officer about transgender and plus-size models. It was a turning point, and honestly, a long time coming.

After a six-year break, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show came back last year with a more inclusive lineup of models, featuring plus-size and transgender women.
