As a seasoned CS:2 player and esports enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a thrill run down my spine as the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 Quarter-Finals kick off with a highly anticipated match between two of the game’s biggest names – m0NESY and donk. Having followed their careers closely, I can’t help but recall the many times these superstars have left us in awe, pushing the limits of what’s possible in CS:2.
m0NESY and donk finally clash in a high-stakes match.
The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 is advancing to the Quarter-Finals, with G2 and Spirit starting the playoff action. Notably, this confrontation marks the initial meeting between Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, who are top contenders for CS2’s title. Previously, they avoided each other at BLAST due to m0NESY’s visa complications, but now they’ll face off to progress in EWC.
donk vs m0NESY – The superstars battle it out!
The BLAST Premier Spring Finals provided an excellent setup for witnessing the three best teams in action. Although donk emerged as the victor, we missed out on seeing the full trio as m0NESY encountered visa complications that hindered his attendance. Now, with G2 introducing new members Snax and malbsMd into their roster, this upcoming match promises to add more complexity to the competition.
At this stage, Spirit functions smoothly with only occasional hiccups due to their lack of experience. The smaller setup at EWC suits Spirit well, while G2 may take some time to adapt. Chopper’s leadership in G2 continues to develop, and their powerful roster gives them a decent chance in matches. With m0NESY leading the charge, NiKo providing consistency, and the new addition of malbsMd, G2 relies on their top players performing at their best. Although Mongolz’s game doesn’t fill us with confidence for G2, anything can happen in every match.
