Who does Mysaria’s agent meet on House of the Dragon? What’s happening in King’s Landing?
As a dedicated fan of “House of the Dragon,” I’m absolutely hooked by the latest turn of events in Rhaenyra Targaryen’s storyline. The tension between her and her half-brother Aegon is reaching new heights, with their war for the Iron Throne taking a dangerous turn. Rhaenyra’s trusted advisor Mysaria has proposed an intriguing plan to exploit the people of King’s Landing’s growing unrest.
In the latest episode of “House of the Dragon,” titled “Regent,” Rhaenyra Targaryen is seeking new strategies to strengthen her position in her conflict against her half-brother Aegon Targaryen, who challenges her right to the Iron Throne. Although he’s bedridden due to grievous dragon burns, his younger and even more unstable brother Aemond is handling affairs on his behalf. Rhaenyra has been dealing with some tough blows lately; her trusted dragon riding counselor, Rhaenys, met a tragic end in flames just last week.
They are struggling with Corlys Velaryon’s blockade, which denies them food supplies, and they fear Rhaenyra may bomb the city with her dragons. To execute this plan, Mysaria and Rhaenyra send Elinda Massey, one of Rhaenyra’s ladies-in-waiting, into the city.
Near the close of the episode, Elinda encounters Dyana, a woman previously seen working in a tavern during the third episode of this season. In the show’s first season, Dyana had worked in the Red Keep but was victimized by King Aegon through sexual assault. It seems she now provides information to Mysaria.
I can’t help but feel a sense of unease as we wait to uncover the plans of these two mysterious characters. The people of King’s Landing are on edge, and based on the sneak peek of the upcoming episode, a riot has erupted in the city’s streets. It wouldn’t shock me in the least if Elinda and Dyana were behind it all.
The next episode of House of the Dragon airs Sunday, July 21 on HBO and Max.
