Who Dies In Alice In Borderland Season 3 (Full List)

Season 3 of Alice in Borderland featured a number of character deaths as Arisu and Uriga were unexpectedly pulled back into the games. This has led fans to question whether these characters are truly gone. The popular Japanese thriller series on Netflix returned for a third season after the second season concluded with Arisu and Uriga successfully escaping the Borderlands – a dangerous world between life and death – and returning to reality.

The third season starts with Usagi being tricked into returning to the deadly games by a man named Ryuji Matsuyama, which forces Arisu to come back as well. Throughout the six episodes, several characters die – some bravely, and others as a consequence of their own selfish actions.

Shinsuke Sato directed *Alice in Borderland*, a series about a group of people who find themselves in a dangerous, alternate version of Tokyo where they must compete in deadly games to stay alive. The show features Kento Yamazaki, Tao Tsuchiya, and Ayaka Miyoshi, and the third season became available on Netflix on September 25, 2025.

Does Arisu Die in Alice in Borderland Season 3?

Arisu’s experience as a long-time player in the dangerous Borderlands made him a target for Banda. As revealed in Season 3, Banda-a real-world serial killer now living in this alternate world-instructed Ryuji to lure Usagi back into the games, knowing this would force Arisu to return as well. Banda explained they wanted Arisu in their world because, simply put, “it gets boring without good players.”

Throughout most of *Alice in Borderland* Season 3, Arisu’s life is constantly at risk due to the dangerous games. This season stands out from the previous ones because Arisu and Usagi are on different teams. They must lead their teammates to survive and make it to the final game, all while trying to find their way back to each other.

Arisu faced danger in both the Runaway Train and Kick the Can games, but he managed to reach the final round. After winning with Usagi and six others, a final dice roll determined who could return to the real world. Sadly, Arisu rolled a seven, meaning only seven people could leave. He selflessly chose to stay behind so Usagi and the rest of the group could go home.

Despite everything, Arisu remained resilient after a final meeting with The Watchman, who controls the realm between life and death. The Man in the Hat offered Arisu a choice: live or die. He explained that death would be peaceful, while returning to the real world meant facing more pain and a coming catastrophe.

Ultimately, Arisu chose to return to the real world with Usagi and their child, successfully surviving the dangerous games of *Alice in Borderland* once more.

Does Usagi Die in Alice in Borderland Season 3?

As a big fan of *Alice in Borderland*, I was really invested in Usagi and Arisu’s relationship, especially after seeing them happily married at the start of Season 3. But it quickly became clear that Usagi was still deeply affected by her father’s death, and unfortunately, Ryuji exploited that vulnerability to trick her into going back to the dangerous Borderlands. It was heartbreaking to watch!

Like Arisu, Usagi survived the dangerous games again, narrowly escaping death several times before reaching the final round. However, a surprising turn of events occurred: Usagi discovered she was pregnant during the final game. This revelation was made even more complicated by the fact that the game organizers counted her unborn baby as a player, mirroring a similar plot twist from Season 3 of *Squid Game*.

Despite being pregnant, Usagi battled fiercely in the final round, combining Arisu’s help with her own skills to make it to the last challenge. After Arisu protected her by holding her ground, Usagi now faces a difficult emotional battle: dealing with her sadness and regret over her father’s death.

In the climactic final round of Borderlands, as a massive flood pulled players towards a deadly vortex, Usagi was about to be swept away when Ryuji surprisingly rescued her, pushing her towards Arisu. This intervention saved Usagi’s life, allowing her the chance to say goodbye to her father and finally come to terms with her grief.

Usagi was rescued by Arisu, and they both found happiness together back in the real world. However, their peaceful life wouldn’t last, as a new crisis was on the horizon.

Who Dies in Alice in Borderland Season 3

Masato

I recently learned about this really interesting game called Zombie Hunt that Masato, a middle school teacher and member of Arusi’s team, is involved with. Basically, it’s a card game where players have to pick sides – human or zombie – and form alliances. It’s super high-stakes because whichever team loses – humans or zombies – gets immediately eliminated… permanently! It sounds intense.

After Ikeno, a human leader, revealed Masato was a zombie, he became an easy target. Ikeno then used a “shotgun” card to immediately eliminate Masato during a round of the game.

Ikeno

Ikeno, who was essentially the leader of the human group, also died during the Zombie Hunt. This was largely a result of Arisu’s tactic of creating as many zombies as possible. Ikeno’s forceful leadership and overconfidence ultimately led to his downfall. He realized too late that his group was vastly outnumbered, and he was eliminated by the Borderlands’ red laser.

Shion

Kick the Can is a game where players try to kick a can and get it back to where it started. There’s a catch: one player has to return the can to the base before a timer runs out – like defusing a bomb! Each time someone new gets possession of the can, the timer gets a little shorter, and if the can is kicked too hard, it ‘explodes’.

Arusi’s team successfully helped all of its members advance to the next round. However, things quickly became chaotic when the other players also tried to move forward, as only ten people were allowed to continue.

Shion, the CEO of a new company, attempted to shield her teammate Natsu from aggressive players, but this led to a heated argument with one of them on an escalator. During the confrontation, a can fell and exploded, instantly killing her.

Natsu

Natsu, a new dancer on Arisu’s team, was still grieving the loss of her close friend, Shion. While attempting to reach the base with the can to advance, she was confronted by another player. Unfortunately, she didn’t succeed in time, and an explosion resulted in both of their deaths.

Kazuya

As a big fan of the series, I was really bummed out by Kazuya’s fate. He started as one of Arisu’s rivals, but they ended up teaming up during those intense games like The Runaway Train and Kick the Can. He actually helped Arisu get to the base with the ninth can, which felt like a huge moment for him. Sadly, when he entered the final round, things went south quickly. He was just overwhelmed by the other players and tragically got stabbed twice before the can detonated, taking everyone with him. It was a tough loss, especially after seeing him switch sides and become an ally.

Sohta

The last game is called Possible Future. Players must choose a door and navigate to the end, but they need to be strategic because each room takes away an unknown number of points from their starting total of 15. What makes the game unique is that the walls show each player glimpses of their potential futures, and the future shown becomes real when they finally exit the game.

Sohta is a firefighter and a member of Usagi’s team. The final round of the competition is especially difficult for him because his sister, Yuna, is also participating. Sadly, Sohta died after entering a room with severe point penalties, leaving Yuna heartbroken.

Tetsu

Tetsu is a senior member of Arisu’s group, but he battles a drug addiction outside of the games. While playing Possible Futures, his addiction made it difficult for him to distinguish reality from the many possible versions of his life he was shown, leaving him confused and overwhelmed.

He began experiencing hallucinations of his past love, Yukiko, and unknowingly entered a room that penalized players eight points. Unfortunately, he only had seven points to begin with, causing his collar to detonate and kill him immediately.

Ryuji

Ryuji Matsuyama is a fascinating character in *Alice in Borderland* Season 3. As an assistant professor deeply interested in death and what happens after, he played a key role in Usagi and Arisu’s decision to return to the deadly games.

Banda attempted to trick Ryuji into killing Usagi so Arisu could remain in the dimension, but Ryuji refused. Instead, he saved Usagi’s life, ultimately sacrificing himself by being pulled into a deadly vortex, which resulted in his permanent death.

Banda

Banda’s relentless attempts to keep Arisu in the Borderlands ultimately backfired. After Arisu barely survived a devastating flood that threatened to pull everyone into a dangerous whirlpool, Banda made one last, desperate attempt to convince him to stay, even pointing a gun at him.

In a surprising turn of events, Banda was killed by a red laser. The Man in the Hat revealed that Banda was never meant to lead the Borderlands, as he had cruel and malicious plans.
