As I delve into Whitney Port’s heartfelt journey towards expanding her family, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of empathy and admiration for this remarkable woman. Her experiences with pregnancy loss, surrogacy, and the emotional turmoil that accompanies such life-altering decisions are a testament to her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.

Whitney Port revealed the high financial cost of her fertility and surrogacy journey.

The woman with a single child, aged 39, has been candid about the hardships she’s faced in growing her family, which encompasses three miscarriages and one instance of a pregnancy that didn’t progress beyond a certain stage.

As a fervent admirer, I’ve been closely following the journey of the former Hills star, who along with her partner Tim Rosenman, shares a seven-year-old son. Notably, she chose surrogacy for their family expansion. Unfortunately, it transpired that her surrogate experienced two personal losses in the process as well.

Currently, Port has revealed in her latest episode of the “With Whit” podcast that she’s embarking on another cycle of IVF egg retrieval with a new surrogate, and she anticipates the expenses to total an astounding $200,000.

Port stated that just rematching with a new surrogate costs a hefty $15,000, sharing, ‘Can you even believe that that’s just the charge just to find a new surrogate let alone the surrogacy fees?’

‘This whole thing is probably gonna end up costing us I feel like $200,000,’ she added.

Based on my personal experiences and observations, I can’t help but acknowledge the genuine financial strain that many people have expressed while following along. The stress of managing finances is a harsh reality for so many, and it’s something I’ve seen firsthand in my own life and the lives of those around me.

Reflecting on my personal journey, I am deeply grateful for the financial stability that allows me to invest in our dreams without worrying about the costs. However, it’s a bitter pill to swallow when I realize how easily this privilege can slip away from so many people, making their aspirations seem unattainable. It is truly heart-wrenching to witness such hardships and know that something as precious as our dreams should never be out of reach due to financial constraints.

Whitney, who has earlier touched upon remarks concerning her weight loss, additionally delved into her apprehensions regarding her impending egg extraction procedure.

“I’ve been feeling slightly apprehensive about the entire egg retrieval procedure, as I wasn’t sure of the plan due to the fact that I was essentially awaiting my period to determine the upcoming month.”

Based on my years of medical experience and numerous encounters with patients seeking second opinions, I understand the importance of exploring alternative options when it comes to health concerns. As a patient, I too have found myself in situations where I needed to seek out a different specialist for a second opinion. In this case, she is making a wise decision by consulting with another doctor in New York City. This could potentially provide her with fresh insights and a new approach to her treatment, ultimately benefiting her overall health and well-being.

‘I was not happy with what happened with my doctors in Los Angeles.’

As a devoted follower, let me share an experience. My first physician successfully extracted 21 eggs, from which four embryos were created. We then implanted two of these embryos in a surrogate mother, but unfortunately, both pregnancies ended in miscarriage. I want to emphasize that this is not to imply any fault on their part.

Having gone through this journey myself, I can relate to the challenges you face. With two more embryos stored from the previous round, it may seem like an easy decision to use them. However, after consulting with Dr. Fisher in New York, whom I have known since Timmy’s childhood and who has helped numerous friends conceive, I am now leaning towards a fresh round of retrieval. Dr. Fisher believes that creating new embryos and working with a new surrogate might increase our chances of success. While it may involve additional time and resources, her extensive experience and personal recommendations make me confident in this approach. Let’s keep an open mind and explore the possibilities together.

“So far, we haven’t located a stand-in for our needs, but that’s an ongoing effort. It’s essentially a separate task altogether.”

If it’s quite costly, and without a doctor’s note verifying the necessity of a retest, you would need to pay an entirely fresh fee for another test.

Currently, I’m seeking a note from the doctor that explains the reason for no longer working with the previous surrogate.

Regarding the embryos implanted in our previous surrogate, we’re not entirely sure what might have gone wrong. Although they underwent genetic testing, there was also an issue of blood clots with the surrogate. Therefore, our doctor should provide us with a note to help us find a new surrogate without incurring another $15,000 charge.

Whitney also shared why her doctor believes her previous eggs might have been ‘overcooked.’

As a diligent follower, I found myself in a situation where perhaps an excess amount of medication was administered, and the extraction of the eggs might have occurred slightly later than ideal. Consequently, it seems that a considerable number of these eggs were overcooked, leaving us with only four viable ones out of the original 21.

Based on my personal journey with infertility treatments, I am hopeful that this time around, my doctor is going to approach things differently when it comes to monitoring my medication and dosing. I’ve learned through trial and error that even the smallest changes can make a significant difference in the health of the embryos, so I’m eager to see what new strategies they have in store for me. Fingers crossed that this time we will be able to create some healthier embryos and take a step closer to realizing our dream of starting a family.

As a seasoned parent of three, I can attest to the fact that having children changes your life in ways you never thought possible. However, when it comes to the question of needing a partner versus wanting a child, my personal experience has taught me a valuable lesson: one does not equate to the other.

Additionally, she posted a picture on Instagram on Tuesday, showing herself relaxing at the beach while wearing a single-piece blue swimsuit.

In her post before the egg retrieval, she chose to be open about her feelings and admitted that she wasn’t feeling great. It’s not the physical pain (which is certainly challenging – bloating, bruising, swelling, heaviness) but rather the emotional distress she’s experiencing.

As a woman going through hormonal fluctuations, I find myself feeling overwhelmed and drained of energy. The hormones seem to be controlling my emotions, making me feel as if I can’t handle anything that comes my way. Everything feels like an insurmountable obstacle, and it’s hard not to get discouraged.

She continued, “I’ve been feeling like I could cry at any moment and my throat feels knotted. Interestingly, every day seems unique. The day prior to the retrieval was particularly tough, but today, I find myself feeling slightly improved.”

As a fervent admirer, I’m eagerly looking forward to expressing my appreciation, but right now, with so much uncertainty swirling around, I haven’t quite reached that point yet. Perhaps I seem pessimistic, but it’s not about forcing feelings; it’s about allowing them to bloom naturally. Words cannot fully convey how grateful I am for your unwavering support and uplifting words of encouragement.

She and husband Tim have walked a tortuous path in their bid to add another child to the fold.

In June, they revealed they were considering using a surrogate, as Whitney had unfortunately suffered several miscarriages herself.

In November, it was revealed that the couple had, in fact, enlisted the help of a surrogate. Unfortunately, she experienced the heartbreaking loss of two pregnancies.

Initially, Whitney encountered Tim when he served as an associate producer for her MTV side project, “The City.” Later on, they tied the knot in the year 2015.

The TV host gained popularity when she joined the main cast of The Hills reality series on MTV back in 2006. Alongside her friends Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, and Audrina Patridge, she became one of the show’s four leading characters.

The series aired for six seasons on from 2006 until 2010.
