Originally, these two friends were the pioneers who set trends in Tartan fashion, successfully breaking into the challenging world of influence – all while appearing to thoroughly enjoy the process.
Molly McFarlane and Megano Welsh developed a strong bond that made it seem as if they were inseparable friends forever. Their unique camaraderie was something that many of their contemporaries, including competitors, could merely aspire to have.
The stylish YouTube and Instagram pair collected approximately half a million followers on Instagram and received over 40 million views across various social media platforms. They collaborated with brands such as ASOS, enjoyed complimentary vacations at lavish resorts in Barbados, and were featured in the popular BBC series The Agency: Unfiltered.
Their admirers often looked up to them, as they were frequently the highlight at high-profile galas and events, flaunting fashion advice for brands such as Pretty Little Thing and BPerfect. They even coordinated a charitable gala that collected a substantial amount in the tens of thousands for deserving causes.

At a certain point in time, it was rumored that Megano would stand by Miss Molly as a bridesmaid at her wedding, until her engagement mysteriously ended years ago.
Instead, their once strong bond of friendship and profitable partnership now feels like something from the past. Now, following the unexpected ending of their close relationship, there’s much discussion online about what might have led to its downfall.

Meanwhile, Megano remains a regular on the BAFTA-winning BBC Scotland series, but Miss Molly has yet to appear on television.
For the past year, it appears that Miss Molly and Megano, who were once very close, haven’t been seen together at all.

Megan had just started a new job she wasn’t thrilled about and vented online about it. My story was eerily similar, as I too was going through the same struggles. Spotting common ground, I reached out and expressed my admiration for her courage in sharing her video, telling her that she should be proud of herself for doing so.’

The duo, who quickly resonated with everyone, found themselves sought after everywhere and eventually teamed up with Aquarius Creative, an influential firm based in Glasgow, managed by Kirsten Cameron and Amy Moore.
In December 2023, everything appeared to shift significantly after the massive charity event, GirliesROut, was successfully sold out within 90 minutes, amassing a record-breaking sum of £14,635 for Glasgow Women’s Aid.
In a sudden move, Miss Molly chose independence, breaking free from the bond with Aquarius Agency, where she and Megano were represented.
Hannah Scougall, previously employed at Aquarius Creative, is currently responsible for her care, while Miss Molly, who openly discussed experiencing anxiety before, emphasizes that she is managing independently now.
During a 2024 podcast, Miss Molly shared that it was around mid-2023 when she found herself overwhelmed with feelings of dissatisfaction regarding her job as a whole, no longer finding joy in it like she once did.
It simply wasn’t a good fit for me. Over time, I found myself drifting away from certain activities and people. There’s no hard feelings or animosity involved. I just felt compelled to step back from group activities that didn’t align with my personal interests.
She further mentioned, “Every girl is simply incredible, there’s not a single problem at all. We ventured everywhere as a team. This year, I’ll turn 28. It’s rare for someone to stay in one job for a decade. It’s important to mix things up occasionally.
This year and next, I’ve got plans that I wanted to execute independently without anyone else’s involvement. It can be quite challenging to stick to this when working in an agency due to the numerous colleagues, especially other women, with whom I’m quite close. The environment itself makes it tough, but there’s no problem per se.
Perhaps revealingly, she mentioned that her Saturn return occurred earlier than usual. This event signifies a significant life change where one’s circle shifts and any negative influences are discarded. During the second season, she chose to step back from Miss Molly, deciding to disengage from this role in her thirties.
Megano, similar to others, has also tackled shifts in interpersonal dynamics via her YouTube platform – albeit without explicitly mentioning Miss Molly in her discussions.
She openly acknowledged that she is undergoing therapy at present and moreover, she stated candidly: ‘To be frank, I believe that friendship endings are equally painful as romantic breakups. A friendship split is truly heart-wrenching. Regrettably, it seems that this is one of those experiences that needs time to heal. It feels unusual to carry on with life when they are no longer present. It’s peculiar and it’s tough, but you just have to surf the wave and surround yourself with others, distractions. It’s challenging now, but things will eventually get better.’
In 2024, as it appeared that their friendship had begun to distance, Megano expressed: “This year started off poorly, and there was a particular moment when something occurred that made me feel I’d never be quite the same again.
‘An event transpired, and I feel confident that I can contribute significantly. I believe I possess positive qualities, good intentions, and valuable skills. Regardless of whether it’s a professional, personal, or social context, I am certain I have much to share. Trust yourself, for you have much value to offer as well.’
