- Every weapon in Where Winds Meet offers a unique Martial Art that reshapes how you fight.
A really rewarding aspect of Where Winds Meet is how different weapons dramatically change the way you fight. Instead of just boosting your numbers like in many action RPGs, each weapon feels like a distinct Martial Art, with its own special moves, animations, and purpose in battle.
Where Winds Meet lets you try out tons of different fighting styles. You can use quick dual blades, protective umbrellas, powerful spears, and more! The game also lets you equip two weapons at the same time, letting you create unique combinations perfect for playing alone, teaming up with friends, or battling other players.
You start with a limited number of weapons in Where Winds Meet, but the best ones require some effort to obtain. This guide details how to unlock every weapon in the game, whether through exploring the world, completing stealth missions, or joining different factions, so you can create the perfect set of gear.
How to unlock all weapons in Where Winds Meet
As of right now, Where Winds Meet includes twelve different weapons – swords, spears, fans, umbrellas, blades, and rope weapons. Players can usually unlock these weapons in one of three ways:
- Unlocked by default at the start of the game.
- Skill Theft missions that requires stealth and observation.
- Joining Sects or selecting a weapon during your first Oddity submission to Qi Sheng.
You can get all the weapons in the game during just one playthrough! Plus, once you master a Martial Art, you’ll have it forever, even if you change Sects. Here’s a guide to each weapon, explained one at a time.
1. How to unlock Nameless Sword and Nameless Spear

In Where Winds Meet, you begin your adventure with two weapons: the Nameless Sword and the Nameless Spear. What’s great is that you automatically have access to both of these Martial Arts from the start – you don’t need to complete any quests or fulfill any special requirements to unlock them.
2. How to unlock Panacea Fan
The Panacea Fan is a healing weapon that’s available early in the game, making it a great choice for players who like to stay alive or team up with others. You can unlock it in a couple of ways, and the first is by selecting it when you submit your first Oddity to Qi Sheng.

You can also get the Panacea Fan by becoming a member of the Silver Needle Sect – they’ll teach you the technique automatically when you join. However you get it, the Panacea Fan is a helpful support weapon that stays effective even in the later stages of the game.
3. How to unlock Soulshade Umbrella
The Soulshade Umbrella is a healing weapon designed to support your team and control the battlefield. You can unlock it by using Skill Theft. To do this, head to Mistveil Forest in eastern Kaifeng. Look for a building with an open entrance near a post station. Inside, you’ll discover a hidden path leading down a ladder to the home of an umbrella master.

If you successfully sneak into this area and watch the Skill Theft, you’ll learn the Soulshade Umbrella Martial Art. You can also unlock it by choosing it from Qi Sheng when you submit your first Oddity, or by joining the related Sect, depending on how you progress in the game.
4. How to unlock Strategic Sword
The Strategic Sword is a close-combat weapon that deals damage over time with a bleeding effect, and you get it by stealing skills. To find it, you’ll need to reach the Strategic Sword Sanctum, which is near Encircling Lake in the southern part of Qinghe.

This mission focuses on sneaking around. Move carefully and pay close attention. When you’re inside, observe the master demonstrating the technique, and press the button to interact when a golden circle appears. Successfully copying the skill unlocks the Strategic Sword Martial Art for permanent use.
5. How to unlock Infernal Twinblades
The Infernal Twinblades are a fast-paced, close-combat weapon meant for players who enjoy a constant, aggressive attack style. You can get them by choosing the Infernal Twinblades when you first turn in an Oddity to Qi Sheng.

You can also acquire skills by committing Skill Theft at the Midnight Mercy Sanctum, which is east of Crimson Cliff in Qinghe. Finally, if you join the Midnight Blades Sect, you’ll immediately receive the Infernal Twinblades – no stealth missions required.
6. How to unlock Thundercry Blade
Okay, so the Thundercry Blade is this super powerful, but kinda slow, weapon – it’s definitely made for Tank characters. There are three ways to get it, and the first one is pretty cool. When you first turn in an Oddity to Qi Sheng, you can actually choose the Thundercry Blade as your reward!

There are a few ways to learn this Martial Art. You can sneak into the Well of Heaven Martial Camp, which is close to Peace Bell Tower in the Moonveil Mountains of Qinghe, and complete the Skill Theft mission. Alternatively, simply joining the Well of Heaven Sect will give you immediate access to it.
7. How to unlock Heavenquaker Spear
Okay, so I finally figured out how to get the Heavenquaker Spear! It’s a pretty powerful melee weapon, perfect for dealing damage up close. You gotta go to the Heavenquaker Spear Sanctum to steal it, and it’s located at Wildmane Ranch in Sundara Land – it’s northeast of Qinghe. The tricky part is, you need to watch the master using the spear and learn their combos before you can actually pull off the theft. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but totally worth it!

You can also get the Heavenquaker Spear right away by joining the Raging Tides Sect, a group that focuses on spear fighting techniques.
8. How to unlock Vernal Umbrella
The Vernal Umbrella is a weapon focused on dealing damage from a distance. If you don’t select it when making choices with Qi Sheng, you’ll have to unlock it by completing a special quest in Kaifeng City’s Time Tower. This quest is different from typical Skill Theft missions because it requires you to find five clues by talking to several people and even a cat! You’ll need to gather information from a tabby cat, two pairs of women, and a guard at a warehouse.

If you figure out the clues and get the warehouse key, you’ll be able to enter the banquet room where the Martial Art is located. Alternatively, you can get the Vernal Umbrella simply by joining the related Sect, which lets you skip the investigation process altogether.
9. How to unlock Mortal Rope Dart
The Mortal Rope Dart is a close-combat weapon focused on dealing damage. To get it, you’ll need to sneak into the Nine Mortal Ways Martial Hall in Kaifeng City. The main entrance is heavily guarded, but a character in the game will show you how to get in using disguises.

Once you’ve helped Wuyan at Lin’s Cosmetics and finished her task, you’ll be able to create disguises and enter the hall. Completing the Skill Theft challenge inside will unlock the Mortal Rope Dart, though you can also simply join the Nine Mortal Ways Sect to learn this Martial Art right away.
10. How to unlock Inkwell Fan
The Inkwell Fan is a weapon designed for dealing ranged damage. You can unlock it by using the Skill Theft ability at the Inkwell Fan Sanctum, which is found in the Floral Expanse Beyond, a location in northern Sundara Land, Qinghe.

The area looks calm from the outside, but you’ll need to be quiet and sneaky once you enter the inner sanctuary. Plus, if you join the Silver Needle Sect, you’ll immediately receive the Inkwell Fan.
11. How to unlock Stormbreaker Spear

The Stormbreaker Spear is a weapon best suited for players who prefer a tank playstyle. You can obtain it by successfully infiltrating the Silver Needle Sanctum and stealing a skill, or by simply joining the Raging Tides Sect.
