Where To Watch All Karate Kid Movies Online Before Karate Kid: Legends

You can stream or rent any of the past “Karate Kid” films before the 2025 release of “Karate Kid: Legends”. This upcoming film is directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for “I Am Not Okay with This”, and written by Rob Lieber, who worked on “Peter Rabbit”. The story revolves around a new character named Li Fong (played by Ben Wang), who learns a unique martial art after moving to America. The cast also includes Sadie Stanley, Joshua Jackson, Wyatt Oleff, Aramis Knight, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Jennifer-Lyn Christie, and Ming-Na Wen in various roles.

Apart from being the first full-length film in fifteen years, the upcoming “Karate Kid: Legends” is unique because it will be the first to merge characters from both lines of the series. This is accomplished by having Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) team up. Daniel has been the central character in the initial three films and the streaming sequel series “Cobra Kai”, where he stars alongside William Zabka, his rival Johnny Lawrence. On the other hand, Mr. Han was initially introduced in the kung fu-inspired remake of the original movie – which was also named “The Karate Kid” – that debuted in 2010.

The Karate Kid, Karate Kid 2 & Karate Kid 3 Are Streaming On Hulu

The Original Daniel LaRusso Trilogy Is All Together

Originally released in 1984, “The Karate Kid” is now streaming on Hulu, along with its initial two sequels from 1986 and 1989 titled “Part II” and “Part III”. These movies made their way onto the platform, owned by Disney Streaming, on April 1, 2025, and are also available in Spanish.

Out of all the films in this series, these three are most closely interconnected, as they chronicle the life story of Daniel LaRusso. The journey begins with his martial arts training, continues with his travels to Japan, and even includes a brief period where he’s swayed by the malevolent Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) during a conflict with his mentor, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita).

The Next Karate Kid Is Streaming On Tubi

The Movie Attempted To Revitalize The Franchise In The ’90s

1994’s film titled “The Next Karate Kid“, featuring Hilary Swank as a pupil under Daniel’s mentor Mr. Miyagi, can be streamed on Tubi, a service owned by Fox Corporation. Interestingly, all four of the original “Karate Kid” films were initially distributed by Columbia Pictures. However, with these titles now scattered across different platforms, it suggests that they might have encountered rights issues, making it difficult for them to be consolidated under one license-holder. It’s also plausible that Hulu may not have shown interest in this movie due to its poor reception, scoring only 7% on Rotten Tomatoes and failing at the box office.

2010’s The Karate Kid Is Streaming On Prime Video

The Remake Will Play Into Karate Kid: Legends In A Major Way

As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the 2010 remake of “The Karate Kid,” featuring an impressive cast like Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson, Wenwen Han, Zhenwei Wang, Yu Rongguang, and Luke Carberry, with Jackie Chan playing Mr. Han, is now available for streaming on Prime Video. It’s important to note that while Columbia Pictures was involved in the production of this remake, the title rights might not be connected to the original movies due to its co-production nature among the United States, China, and Hong Kong. This means that other production companies like China Film Group, EDKO, and JW Productions also played significant roles in bringing this film to life.
