Always close to the lens, he boasts an impressive roster of roles on both TV and movie screens, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in 2004.
He’s played everything from a playboy plastic surgeon to nefarious superhero villain.
Besides his acting prowess, he boasts an impressive lineage as well, being the offspring of a past Australian Prime Minister.

These days, Julian, 56, is still very active in acting scene.
In simpler terms, he is planning to come back on Australian television screens, featuring alongside Nicholas Cage in the forthcoming Stan original movie titled “The Surfer.
The attractive actor has been keeping himself occupied with the movie’s promotion; moreover, he was spotted at the red carpet event during the premiere of Surfer’s SXSW in March.
At the event, he astonished everyone with a significant change, as he opted to cut his long hair short and grew a mustache and goatee instead.
A significant change has occurred since his debut at the film’s Cannes premiere last May, as he now sports a different look compared to his previous clean-cut style and deep tan.
In addition to his impending role in “The Surfer”, Julian has also been keeping himself occupied with filming for an upcoming project titled “The Supremes At Earl’s All You Can Eat”. This movie features a star-studded cast that includes Uzo Aduba from “Orange Is The New Black” and Mekhi Phifer from “8 Mile”.
In addition, it’s important to note that Julian has played the role of Special Agent Jess LaCroix in the police drama series FBI, which was created by Dick Wolf, along with its offshoots FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.
Julian gained significant recognition for his outstanding performance in the prolonged Ryan Murphy series, Nip/Tuck, which revolves around the medical field.

He starred alongside Dylan Walsh, playing Miami-based plastic surgeon Christian Troy.
In my line of work as a lifestyle advisor, I must confess that there were instances where I found myself, regrettably, crossing professional boundaries with some of my female clients. Fortunately, the wise and level-headed Sean McNamara was always there to help manage the fallout from my errors.
In 2004, I was honored with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor, acknowledging my portrayal of the charming doctor. However, it was Ian McShane who took home the award that year.
Before appearing on Nip/Tuck, Julian had previously worked with Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano in the popular supernatural series Charmed, which was created by Aaron Spelling.
He played Cole Turner, the half demon ex husband of Alyssa’s character Phoebe Halliwell.
While working on Charmed, Julian had a brief romantic involvement with Doherty that occurred during the series’ third season, which spanned from 2000 to 2001.
As for their personal life, it’s worth mentioning that Julian has been married to model and writer Kelly Paniagua since they exchanged vows in 2014.
For 11 years, they were a couple, then they exchanged vows in a charming ceremony held at picturesque Lake Tahoe, which lies on the boundary between California and Nevada.
In a past chapter of my life, I was hitched to the radiant Brooke Burns, known for her iconic role in Baywatch. Together, we’re blessed with our beautiful daughter, Madison, who is now 25 years old.

The pair were tied the knot in 1999, before calling it quits three years later.
Apart from that, he was wedded to Australian actress and vocalist Dannii Minogue, following their romance blossoming on the set of Home and Away where Julian portrayed beloved character Ben Lucini.
In 1994, they got married, however, their relationship didn’t last long as they separated only a year and half afterwards.
It’s known that Julian is the son of the ex-Prime Minister of Australia, William McMahon, and it was Dannii who disclosed that the strained relationship between Julian’s mother, Lady Sonia McMahon, played a role in their separation.
‘There was no relationship, she wouldn’t speak to me,’ Dannii told Seven in 2019.
‘She told me I couldn’t be around her in the house, and she said she wouldn’t attend our wedding. We were at a loss about how to proceed – we were simply trying to figure things out.’
Julian went on to star alongside Dannii’s sister Kylie Miniogue in the 2018 film Swinging Safari.
At the 2016 GQ Men Of The Year awards, he swiftly evaded a query regarding his on-set experience collaborating with his ex-sister-in-law.

Julian enthusiastically engaged in a conversation about the movie. But as the topic shifted towards his ex-wife’s sibling, he swiftly steered the discussion elsewhere.
He mentioned every other star featured in the film, failing to bring Kylie’s name up at all.
It added an extra layer of discomfort that his current spouse, Kelly, was standing next to him at the time.
It’s clear to Australian fans watching the 2016 video that Julian has now adopted an American accent instead of his original Aussie one.
