Where AFL star Lachie Neale disappeared to over Christmas as his marriage crisis deepens

Lachie Neale left Queensland around Christmas and went to his family’s beach house in South Australia as his marriage to Jules faces ongoing and very public difficulties.

Okay, so I’ve been tracking everything, and apparently, our guy – the two-time Brownlow winner, can you believe it?! – totally disappeared over the holidays. Like, completely off the grid! Adelaide Now is reporting he holed up in a private place in Robe, which is way away from all the Brisbane footy craziness and, honestly, all the drama that’s been swirling around him lately. It’s like he needed to just escape for a bit, and Robe seemed like the perfect place to do it. I’m just glad he’s getting some space, you know?

Neale, originally from Kybybolite – a town about 130 kilometers from the coast – was seen driving away from the property in a fully loaded four-wheel drive on Saturday morning.

The couple’s house in Seven Hills, Brisbane, was empty on Christmas Day, as they spent the holidays apart, suggesting their seven-year marriage is likely ending.

I’ve been following Neale’s story, and it’s heartbreaking. He ended up seeking a fresh start in South Australia, but sadly, his wife was all the way over on the other side of the country – a really tough situation for everyone involved.

Jules, who works as a hairdresser and has a popular social media presence, posted a message on Instagram from Busselton Jetty in Western Australia on Christmas Eve. The message, which included a broken heart emoji, let her followers know she was back home spending the holiday with her family.

Over the past few weeks, the split has become public, with Jules hinting at issues through their online activity.

She’s no longer listed as being represented by TGI Sport on her Instagram profile, signaling an end to their professional relationship. The company previously managed both her career and that of her husband, who plays Australian rules football.

Jules removed her manager’s contact information from her profile and now only showcases her two businesses: a hairdressing service and a children’s clothing brand.

The announcement followed her surprising public statement about her divorce, where she refuted claims that she and Neale were trying to resolve their problems privately.

She stated in a now-deleted post that she is not trying to work through any issues, and that she has been deeply hurt by someone’s betrayal.

‘All I can do now is to heal and do what’s best for my children.’

Within hours, every photo of her husband vanished from her Instagram account.

Jules is currently involved in a public disagreement with her former friend, Tess Crosley, who was recently seen celebrating with Jules and her partner after their big win.

Screenshots showing a message from Jules to Tess were shared online. In the message, Jules angrily told Tess to delete the images, calling her ‘idiot’ and saying she was making a fool of herself.

The two women used to be very close, often taking vacations together and even making fun TikTok videos with their husbands. One video showed the four of them playfully calling themselves ‘four best friends’.

There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Tess.

Recent sightings of a moving truck at the couple’s Brisbane home have increased rumors that they are permanently separating, with many believing Jules is planning a move back to Western Australia.

The couple have two young children: a four-year-old daughter named Piper and a son, Freddie, who was born in December 2024.

Daily Mail has reached out for comment.
