When is The Bear season 4 coming out?
As a devoted fan of “The Bear,” I’ve grown accustomed to eagerly anticipating each new season with the comforting knowledge that it would grace our screens annually. The first two seasons arrived like clockwork in June, and I had already marked my calendar for the expected premiere of season three. However, recent news of the show’s stars’ busy schedules has left me feeling a tad anxious about when we can expect the next installment.
The third season finale of “The Bear” on FX and Disney+ leaves viewers eagerly anticipating more with an intriguing cliffhanger. However, we’re left wondering – when does the story continue?
In today’s TV world, where popular high-end series like “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” may take several years to come back with new seasons, the show “The Bear” distinguishes itself by consistently airing new episodes.
The initial season was released in June 2022. In June of the next two years, the succeeding seasons became available as a set.
If The Bear maintains its currently announced release schedule, we might see the arrival of season four as early as June 2025.
Due to the unexpectedly full schedules of Stranger Things’ main stars, there’s a chance that filming season four may clash with other projects: Jeremy Allen White is set to act in a Bruce Springsteen biopic, Ebon Moss Bachrach joins the Fantastic Four cast, and Ayo Edebiri works on a Luca Guadagnino thriller.
Previously, it was reported in a quiet manner that seasons three and four of the critically acclaimed show were filmed consecutively to allow the esteemed actors to take on other movie projects.
However, the cast have since clarified that isn’t entirely the case.
At the press conference for the third season, Allen White remarked, “We’ve done something similar.” Edebiri then explained, “Yes, we’ve attempted a comparable approach, but not perfectly identical” (according to New York Post).
So, while they may have shot some of the fourth season, the entire thing isn’t in the can yet.
According to FX executive John Landgraf’s latest interview, the cast is required to go back to Chicago for a significant portion of filming.
In an interview with Variety, he shared, “I’m drawn to The Bear for the same reason I appreciated television in the past: the consistency and anticipation. Each year, there would be shows I cherished, experiences I looked forward to having again. With The Bear, that tradition continues.”
In contrast to network shows with 22 episodes spanning over 30 weeks, most shows today have a limited run and may not return every year for new seasons, leaving viewers with only a brief window of time to engage with each production.
I’m truly pleased and thankful to the team at The Bear for their commitment to making this event happen year after year, despite the various distractions they’ve had to deal with.
After that, he mentioned with great confidence, “I’m not certain, but I believe it may return around the same time next year.”
Here’s hoping he’s right and season four should be with us this time next year.
The Bear seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.
