When is Elder Scrolls Online (ESO)’s Update 50?

Players are excited about the upcoming Update 50 for The Elder Scrolls Online, especially after the popular improvements made to the Dragonknight class. While there’s a lot planned for the update, it will likely be a while before it’s released.

The upcoming Update 50 for The Elder Scrolls Online won’t overhaul any classes, but it will make substantial changes to all of them by adding new features. The Werewolf class will receive specific improvements with this update. Here’s the release date.

ESO Update 50 release date

ZeniMax has announced that ESO‘s U50 update is scheduled to launch in June 2026. This timing fits with the typical release pattern of major updates happening roughly three months apart, after the U49 update in March.

Update 50 will include a major overhaul of the Werewolf class, plus new passive abilities for players who don’t choose a secondary class. Alongside these changes are many other improvements. A key part of this update, especially for player-versus-environment (PvE) content, is the ability to gain bonuses for focusing on a single class. Currently, most top-performing builds rely on skills from multiple classes – like Nightblade’s Assassination, Sorcerer’s Storm Calling, or the very common Arcanist’s Herald of the Tome – so this change could significantly impact how players optimize their characters.

During the livestream on March 26th, we showed off some of the things coming in the next update, including:

  • Improved Companion XP rate
  • New post-Coldharbour Golden Pursuit called Path to Adventure
  • Transmute Stations (almost) everywhere, including in Mages Guilds
  • A Guild Mail feature
  • Improved limit for daily quests

ESO Update 50 PTS release date

We’re excited to give you a sneak peek at Update 50! Parts of the update will be available on the Public Test Server (PTS) starting April 13th. This is a great chance to try things out, share your thoughts, and help us finalize the update – though we understand if you just want to check out the vampire storyline!

ZeniMax will reveal more details in upcoming livestreams, starting with a “Seasons Direct” on March 31st and another broadcast on April 9th. Before the major Update 50 arrives, players can look forward to the start of Season Zero on April 2nd and the Night Market event on April 29th.

While players are eager to experience everything Update 50 has to offer in The Elder Scrolls Online, Zenimax is providing plenty of content to enjoy in the meantime.
