Crew Girl, a “frothy” and “messy” teen drama, is officially in the works at Netflix.

As reported by *Deadline*, a new young adult series is currently being filmed in Victoria, British Columbia. Vivian Lin, who created the acclaimed comedy *Popularity Papers*, is writing, executive producing, and running the show.

Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung, and Lori Massini will also serve as executive producers on the project.

Miku Martineau, who you might recognize from Netflix’s *Kate* and *Bet*, will star as the main character, Teagan. Joining her is Jessica Paré, known for her roles in *Mad Men* and *SEAL Team*, who will play Teagan’s mother, Ella.

I’m so excited about this new series! From what I’ve heard, it’s a fun, coming-of-age story about a 16-year-old girl named Teagan who’s a rower. She ends up becoming the coxswain for a pretty chaotic all-boys rowing team at a fancy prep school on the East Coast. It sounds like it’s going to be a really interesting dynamic!

The competition is fierce, and relationships – both romantic and platonic – are incredibly complicated, causing drama on and off the water. She’s also struggling with a difficult relationship with her mother. With everything falling apart, can she overcome the chaos and come out on top?

Samuel Braun (known for *The Marshmallow Experiment* and *Time Cut*) will play Josh, Kyle Clark (*The Baby-Sitters Club*) will be Cam, and Thomas Cadrot (*Firefly Lane*, *Scream VI*) will play Coach Hayden.

Simon Barry, who recently collaborated with Martineau on Bet, will direct the pilot episode.

Now that filming has begun for *Crew Girl*, Netflix has revealed the first pictures of the cast, including Martineau, who dyed her hair blonde for the role. She shared photos from the beautiful filming location and responded to comments with, “SO EXCITED!”

Although an exact release date isn’t known yet, filming has begun for *Crew Girl*, and it’s expected to be released in 2026.
