What will Maya Jama do next? Following Love Island ratings flop PR expert says newly-single star will become ‘even more famous’ after ‘landing’ huge new gig away from villa
As a seasoned observer of the entertainment industry, I must say that Maya Jama’s star is undeniably on the rise. Her charisma and appeal have not only captured the hearts of viewers but also the attention of top-tier productions like ITV and Netflix.
Maya Jama has gained national recognition following her successful television hosting role for Love Island, one of the country’s largest programs.
The presenter, aged 30, has continued to secure notable roles such as hosting events like The BRITs, Comic Relief, and even representing Dolce & Gabbana while appearing on the cover of Vogue.
As a devoted fan following the Love Island saga, I ponder about her potential return next season, given that the grand finale of Love Island: All Stars, in January, hit an all-time low in ratings. This uncertainty arises after the crowning of Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan as winners in this year’s main show.
“Nick Ede, a PR specialist, informed TopMob that even though Maya might have recently ended her relationship with Stormzy after ‘Love Island’ and may be out of the limelight for now, she remains one of the United Kingdom’s most prominent and shining celebrities.”
Given rumors they parted ways because Maya focused on her work, where might her remarkable career take her in the future?
Will Maya Jama return to Love Island?
In its initial launch in 2015, Love Island experienced a record-low viewership as only a million people watched live as Molly Smith and Tom Clare were declared champions among the All Stars contestants.
1.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the finale on ITVX, similar to the viewership of last year’s winter series finale.
It appears that the show’s viewership has significantly dropped, as it currently attracts far fewer viewers than it did during seasons four and five, when approximately 3.5 million people watched each episode.
However the latest series did see a rise with viewership up 24% on 2023’s summer season.
Nick thinks Maya manages to captivate audiences, even with the show appearing a bit stale, due to her being recognized as an emerging talent by Forbes 30 Under 30.
Based on my observations and knowledge of the industry, I believe we can expect her career to continue to grow exponentially. She has already secured brand deals and been signed as the host for next year’s Love Island, which suggests that she is highly sought after. With her talent and drive, it seems unlikely that she will be going anywhere anytime soon. Her life experiences have undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping her into the successful individual she is today, and I am excited to see what the future holds for her.
The program might be losing some steam, with ratings fluctuating, but her newfound singleness has undoubtedly elevated her status. She’ll likely be the most sought-after woman in town now.
Maya Jama new Masked Singer judge?
It’s possible that Maya might take over as the queen of ITV, given reports suggesting she will continue working with them by appearing in one of their major shows as a replacement for Rita Ora on The Masked Singer.
Rita, aged 34, has served as a judge on the secret-identity celebrity singing contest since 2020. Reports claim she stepped down following the completion of five seasons.
As a long-time fan of “The Masked Singer,” I can’t help but feel excited for Maya if the rumors are true that she has been offered the job to replace Rita in the fall. With her captivating voice and charisma, I have no doubt that she will bring a fresh energy to the show and gain even more mainstream fame. Having worked in the entertainment industry myself, I know how life-changing such an opportunity can be. Maya’s talent has always been undeniable, and I believe this is the perfect platform for her to shine even brighter. I can only imagine the incredible experiences that await her on “The Masked Singer,” and I am eagerly waiting to see what she does with this amazing opportunity.
In the 2021 finale, Rita was a panelist alongside Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, and Jonathan Ross, while Joel Dommett served as the host. An impressive 10.6 million viewers tuned in to watch this event.
TopMob contacted ITV and Maya’s reps for comment.
Will Maya Jama move to Netflix?
In May, it was reported that Maya left ITV executives shocked when she posted a cryptic image on Instagram.
The television host shared an image of her beverage in a Netflix container, hinting that maybe, similar to Amanda Holden and Holly Willoughby, she might soon become part of the streaming service family.
According to a source, the mysterious photo shared by The Sun left ITV executives shocked. The source stated, ‘Maya is currently very valuable and rightly so, she should feel proud about her meeting with Netflix. However, the image’s meaning was unmistakable – Maya is open to new opportunities.’
Before adding: ‘The fact is ITV probably need her more than she needs them, and she knows it,’
Representatives for Maya and ITV had no comment when contacted by TopMob.
BGT host Amanda, 53, signed a lucrative deal with Netflix to front a brand-new dating show
As a seasoned filmmaker with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that working on “Cheaters: Unfinished Business” this summer in Spain has been nothing short of a dream come true for me. This show, focusing on love and relationships, aligns perfectly with my own passion for exploring the complexities of human connections, making it an incredibly rewarding opportunity to be part of. I’ve had the privilege of working on numerous productions throughout my career, but there is something truly special about this project that resonates deeply within me. The fact that we are filming in Spain, a country rich in culture and history, only adds to the allure and excitement of the venture. It is a testament to the boundless creativity and innovation that drive our industry forward, and I am beyond grateful for the chance to contribute to it in such a meaningful way.
Currently, This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby, age 43, has been officially assigned to host a new program titled Bear Hunt. Meanwhile, Emma and Matt Willis are readying for the UK debut of Love Is Blind, which will mark its first season.
