What we know about season 2 of Tom Hardy’s record-breaking British crime drama after shock end

MobLand season 1 spoilers follow.

Tom Hardy’s show “MobLand” has been a major success since its premiere in March, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating a follow-up season.

The Paramount+ series revolves around two criminal factions, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, with the character Hardy portraying a negotiator named Harry Da Souza, who aims to avoid a full-blown conflict between these organized crime groups.

What to Read Next

Right off the bat, the series, co-developed by Ronan Bennett and overseen by Guy Ritchie, set new standards, raking in a massive audience of 2.2 million viewers, making it the largest global debut for any television show on our streaming platform to date.

The series received mixed opinions from critics, but its final episode sparked an intense desire among viewers for additional episodes.

In this case, it’s reasonable to assume that another season will likely come up – however, an official announcement about its release has not been made yet.

Here’s what we know so far about the show’s future.

Will MobLand season 2 happen?

Paramount+ hasn’t officially announced a second season yet, but considering its popularity and comments from some of its cast members, it appears there’s a chance (though not guaranteed) that we might see more of it.

According to The Sun’s recent reports, it seems that the fate of the show hangs in the balance. However, during an interview with Deadline in March, executive producer David C Glasser hinted at a potential second season.

He confirmed that indeed, we will have the second season. The team remains unchanged, with everyone returning. We’re like a big family, and Hardy is still part of it as an actor.

Hardy himself shared with The Hollywood Reporter the next month that “there are certainly plans for additional seasons,” as he contemplated potential directions for the storylines.

He went on to say, “The query is: Does it extend beyond national borders?” He explained, “Season one hints at international aspects of organized crime, such as drug trafficking, weapon control, human trafficking, and a multitude of other items passing through Europe, Africa, South America, Pakistan, and various commodities circulating within Europe.

In every European nation, there are influential families competing for power, with the goal of controlling the transportation of certain goods. The question arises: Who is responsible for regulating this activity, and how does it fit within the global context?

Actress Joanne Froggatt, a fellow luminary in the cosmos of stars, has also expressed optimism about potential continuation, sharing with Collider: “We’ll keep our fingers crossed. At this point, nothing is set in stone, so yes, we’re just very hopeful to be able to continue the story. I’d certainly be delighted if we could.

The surprising finale of the first season of “MobLand” sets up potential opportunities for a second installment, as Harry unintentionally gets stabbed with a kitchen knife by his wife Jan (played by Froggatt), leaving his future uncertain.

It seems that if additional episodes are approved, Harry will return, as co-writer Jez Butterworth shared with the New York Post: “To be clear, ‘is Harry dead?’ No. We have no intention of ending his life. We adore Harry, and we certainly cherish Tom.

In the story, it seemed to me that Harry’s frequent struggles revolved around his personal life, which stood out as a continual concern. The climax, after enduring numerous trials over ten episodes, was unexpectedly poignant because it was the one thing he hadn’t anticipated.

Who will be in MobLand season 2?

As a dedicated fan, I eagerly anticipate that, although no official confirmation has been made about a second season, the majority of our beloved cast is likely to rejoin us once more for another adventure. This includes:

1. Tom Hardy plays the role of Harry Da Souza

2. Helen Mirren is cast as Maeve Harrigan

3. Pierce Brosnan portrays Conrad Harrigan

4. Joanne Froggatt acts as Jan Da Souza

5. Paddy Considine depicts Kevin Harrigan

6. Lara Pulver takes on the role of Bella Harrigan

7. Anson Boon is in character as Eddie Harrigan

8. Jasmine Jobson embodies Zosia

9. Janet McTeer assumes the role of Kat McAllister

10. Mandeep Dhillon portrays Seraphina Harrigan

11. Toby Jones plays Colin Tattersall
