What We Do in the Shadows final season: An everything to know guide

As a devoted fan who has been following the blood-thirsty antics of the Staten Island vampires since their debut, I can’t help but feel a twinge of melancholy as we gear up for the final season of “What We Do In The Shadows.” This quirky mockumentary about our favorite undead has been a beacon of light in my dark, mundane existence.

Get ready for the grand finale of “What We Do In the Shadows”! Here are some crucial details about the upcoming last season of FX’s hilarious vampire comedy.

In 2014, a film titled What We Do in the Shadows was released, which serves as the basis for our discussion. This is a comedy series that follows a group of peculiar vampires residing on Staten Island. Their attempts to adapt to contemporary life yield mixed results, with Guillimero, their human companion, eagerly assisting them in this endeavor and secretly yearning to become a vampire himself.

The program has been highly acclaimed by critics and received numerous Emmy award nominations, such as Best Comedy Series. Moreover, Matt Berry’s portrayal of Laszlo finally secured him a nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy. Excitingly, the show has been renewed for its sixth and last season, so let’s discuss what details have been revealed!

What is Season 6 about?

In Season 5, the storyline focused on Guillermo ultimately transforming into a vampire, but discovering that being turned by anyone other than Nandor was an abominable act. After a series of blunders and comedic mishaps involving Nandor momentarily attempting to eliminate him, Guillermo opted to revert back to human form and abandoned his aspiration for vampirism.

According to TV Line, producer Paul Simms shared that the new season starts with Guillermo leaving home, causing Nandor to feel rather adrift. This state of affairs doesn’t last long, as the rest of the pack soon find themselves meddling in their preferred human’s life.

He and Nandor have established some boundaries. He realizes that now he’s got to go out in the real world and start his own life. But when Guillermo gets a job, the vampires are so concerned about his ability to function in the real world that they follow him to his job to quote-unquote ‘help him out.’

So, we’re looking forward to seeing more classic vampire antics and possibly some recurring characters making an appearance again. Regarding the final outcome, Simms merely hints that it will be a satisfying conclusion for the fans.

We had no idea how we were going to end but I’m really happy with the ending… We didn’t want to get too bogged down in trying to tie up every loose end or get too sentimental about it. We just wanted to make another super funny season and have the ending proceed logically from that, and I think we’ve done it.

So while this may be the last year of the show, it seems it’s going out in style.

Who stars in WWDITS Season 6?

In this new season, we find the principal actors reassembled once more, with Kristen Schaal now being a permanent cast member, stepping into her role as The Guide from Season 5. It’s anticipated that many guest stars will make appearances, some of whom may be familiar characters returning, although the producers are keeping quiet about potential cameos to maintain an element of surprise.

  • Kayvan Novak as Nandor the Relentless
  • Matt Berry as Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth
  • Natasia Demetriou as Nadja of Antipaxos
  • Harvey Guillén as Guillermo de la Cruz
  • Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson

As much as I’ll miss this hilarious series coming to an end, it seems like they’re planning to keep the zany antics that make us adore this show. In other words, it looks like we’re in for a wild ride!
