ITV has confirmed that Midsomer Murders will continue past its current 24th and 25th seasons, which haven’t aired in the UK yet. They’ve officially ordered a 26th series featuring four new mysteries.
The upcoming 26th season will have four new episodes, bringing the total number of *Midsomer Murders* episodes to 148. ITV notes this makes DCI Barnaby the longest-running TV detective.
ITV’s Huw Kennair Jones recently spoke with *Radio Times* about the new season of *Midsomer Murders*. He shared that fans can look forward to four fresh and exciting cases featuring Barnaby and Winter when the show returns for its 26th series.
