Krafton has unveiled an innovative experimental aspect for inZOI named Smart Zoi. This feature is designed to provide greater self-reliance for your Smart Zoi, facilitating interactive experiences driven by its unique character traits. Indeed, your Smart Zoi can interact autonomously with other Smart Zois!

What is the Smart Zoi?

The innovative Smart Zoi is currently being refined using Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling it to engage with its environment in a lifelike manner. According to KRAFTON, this feature allows the Zois to offer an extraordinary level of realism and personality in simulations that you can personally explore.

What is the underlying mechanism behind this characteristic? For example, if your Zoi displays an empathetic demeanor, it wouldn’t just pass by a homeless individual on the street; instead, it would buy a sandwich from a bakery to offer to them. Similarly, if it encounters someone showcasing or creating art on the street, it will express encouragement. Essentially, an Intelligent Zoi reviews its daily interactions and proposes modifications to its schedule. This evaluation impacts Zoi’s behavior the day after and molds its personality over a prolonged period.

When you guide your Zoi character through various actions, you’ll gain insight into their thoughts using the Smart Zoi function. This adds a layer of depth and unforeseen interactions for players to explore. At first, this functionality will only be accessible for human-controlled Zois. For now, animals and other life forms won’t have access, but as the technology evolves and improves, the creators aim to extend Smart Zoi capabilities to all living beings.

Smart Zoi hardware requirements

To achieve higher levels of self-governing capabilities, it’s essential that your system boasts advanced specifications. While this feature isn’t compulsory, it’s worth noting that to run it at its best, you’ll need a Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. This particular GPU was unveiled just last month and typically retails for approximately $800.

Bugs and issues

Remember that this technology is still in its experimental phase, so it might have a few glitches. For instance, to use it, you’ll need to input prompts with the Zoi Pen, which at present, only understands English. The developers have also flagged some potential issues they’ve identified:

1. There may be instances where the technology does not respond as expected due to the complexity of the prompt.
2. Sometimes, the output might not be exactly what you intended because of the limitations in understanding context and nuances in English.
3. The system might occasionally require a few attempts before it can generate an accurate response, especially for more complex prompts.

  • New schedule items may fail to be created if your Zoi goes to bed late.
  • Creating new journal entries and editing schedule items is temporarily disabled when playback speed is at 5x or higher.
  • A Zoi’s inner thoughts may disappear very quickly during conversations with other Zois.
  • Having many sleepy Zois (up to five) on-screen after 11 p.m. may cause the game to lag.

How to enable the feature

You don’t need to activate this additional function, it’s entirely up to you. To manually turn it on once available, navigate to the “Options” menu on the home screen and select “Gameplay.” In there, you’ll discover the Smart Zoi experimental setting. Unfortunately, in the demo version (as demonstrated in the screenshot), you won’t find an on/off switch.

Once granted access to the game, you’ll find several settings you can adjust. You have the ability to apply this feature to up to 300 Zois in the city, with the suggested settings being a “Small Group of Zois on Screen” and a “Queue Limit of 8.

Can I play without the Smart Zoi?

The ‘inner thoughts’ feature in our game, which requires advanced technology, is temporarily unavailable. Instead, your character, Zoi, will function using conventional AI for tasks and activities. This won’t affect your gaming experience, and you can still enjoy the game without this feature. The early access version of the game will be released on Steam on March 28th.
