What happened to Kylie Travis? The Aussie actress hit the big time on Melrose Place spin-off Models Inc and cult TV series Central Park West – before vanishing from screens

She’s the Australian actress who was the star of ’90s US drama series Models Inc.

Kylie Travis became increasingly popular in the 1990s, but her fame decreased in the 2000s. Born in the UK and raised in Australia, she seemed to disappear from public view.

So, whatever happened to Kylie Travis

Though it only lasted one season, Models Inc., a show spun off from the popular Melrose Place, quickly gained a dedicated following and became a cult favorite.

As a lifestyle expert, I always loved the behind-the-scenes drama of shows like ‘Models Inc.’ It really focused on the inner workings of a Los Angeles modeling agency, headed up by the powerful Hillary Michaels, played by Linda Gray. Interestingly, her character was actually the mother of Amanda Woodward from ‘Melrose Place,’ which Heather Locklear also starred in – a fun little connection for fans!

Kylie, age 55, wasn’t the only Australian actor in the show. Cameron Daddo also appeared as Brian Peterson, a photographer who traveled frequently.

Kylie starred as Julie Dante, a popular character known for being a driven Australian model who often made headlines in gossip magazines.

Even though critics disliked it and it only lasted one season, “Models Inc.” attracted soap opera viewers with its exciting stories of glamour, secrets, murder, and blackmail.

After the show was unexpectedly canceled in 1995, Kylie appeared in Central Park West, a series created by the same person behind Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place, Darren Starr.

The show revolved around the world of Communique, a stylish fashion magazine, and featured well-known actresses Morgan Fairchild, Raquel Welch, and Mariel Hemingway.

Kylie starred as Rachael Dennis – the magazine’s blonde bombshell fashion editor.

Despite lasting longer than the show Models Inc., Central Park West was ultimately cancelled in 1996.

In a 1995 interview with Conan O’Brien while performing on Central Park West, Kylie shared a story about meeting Donald Trump at a boxing match featuring Lennox Lewis.

I flew with Donald Trump on his private plane, which had beds and everything – it was surprisingly enjoyable.

Everything was incredibly organized, almost like a military operation. We’d arrive somewhere, get ready to relax with a drink, and then immediately have to leave and go somewhere else.

My girlfriend and I had a fun night gambling and surprisingly won a good amount of money. We were up until nine in the morning!

After Central Park West ended in 1996, Kylie began to appear in acting roles less and less frequently.

After leaving her soap opera role, she appeared in only three movies: Retroactive, Gia (with Angelina Jolie), and Sanctuary.

According to IMDb, her final acting role was in 2001, in an episode of the TV show Ed.

Kylie expanded her business interests by opening Lili Pili Health Bar, a wellness-focused eatery, in White Plains, New York.

However, that venture appears to have closed back in 2015.

Oh my gosh, it feels so strange even saying it, but Kylie actually stepped away from acting! Can you believe it? She found happiness with Louis R. Cappelli, a property developer from New York, and they got married! I was hoping for more roles, of course, but if he makes her happy, that’s all that matters… even if it means no more movies. I just wish she was still on screen!

According to her IMDB, Kylie now busies herself on the New York socialite and charity circuits.

Speaking about Kylie in 2022, Louis was quick to gush about his  actress wife.

He described his wife, Kylie Travis Cappelli, as beautiful and shared that they’ve been together for twenty-five years. He also mentioned she’s an actress originally from Australia, in an interview with the New York Real Estate Journal.

He explained that it’s hard to stop thinking about work, even after a long day. ‘It just doesn’t switch off,’ he said.

‘I wish it wasn’t true. My wife has come to understand that’s just the way I am.

She gets it, and we’ve always enjoyed spending time together, especially by going out to eat. For twenty years, we were regulars at restaurants, dining out nearly every night before the pandemic changed things. Those dinners were a special part of our relationship.
