The most recent Pokémon GO event, titled Sweet Discoveries, has introduced a fresh element into the game. Players will now find Apples scattered across the Pokémon GO map. This feature may seem familiar to trainers who opened the game on April Fool’s Day, as it shares similarities with the mechanic we experienced on that day.
It appears that Niantic may have secretly conducted experiments on us on April Fool’s Day! These Apple items function similarly to the prank Poké Balls from April Fool’s, as they contain various surprises when clicked. Despite their resemblance to Applin, the new Pokémon, unfortunately, these are just items and not guaranteed Pokémons themselves!

What are in the Apples in Pokémon GO?
During the game, apples scattered across the map may contain a range of various items. Since Niantic unveiled the event, they haven’t disclosed all possible items within these apples, so we’ll keep updating this list as the event unfolds.

- Applin
- Sweet Apples
- Tart Apples

To maximize your chances of catching Applin or evolving it into Flapple or Appletun in Pokémon GO, it’s crucial that you engage with a large number of apples during the event.
Additionally, you can gather some additional Apples by being near a Mossy Lure Module during the event. This module has a higher probability of producing Apples when it’s active, and it can be obtained through both free and paid timed research during this specific event.
Furthermore, you may acquire these items through PokéStop Showcases, or alternatively, by purchasing them from the game’s internal marketplace.
