Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what happened at the BRITs! Rhian Teasdale, my absolute idol, showed up on the red carpet… and her knees were all scraped up and bloody! I was losing it! Everyone was talking about it, of course, but honestly, even with that, she looked incredible. I just need to know what happened! It’s all I’ve been thinking about since I saw the pictures. She’s so effortlessly cool, even with battle wounds!
Wet Leg’s lead singer, age 32, arrived at the Co-op Live in Manchester wearing a short, patterned beige skirt and a cream-colored faux fur wrap.
But it was the singer’s legs that drew attention as her knees appeared to be covered in blood.
Rhian made her outfit taller with white boots and completed the look with animal print gloves.
The singer styled her pink and yellow hair straight and finished her outfit with a handbag.
She walked the red carpet with her bandmates Hester Chambers, Henry Holmes, Josh Mobaraki, and Ellis Durand.
The band, which started in 2019 on the Isle of Wight, is up for two awards at this year’s BRITs: Group of the Year and Alternative/Rock Act.
The event in 2026 marks the beginning of a three-year partnership with Sony Music UK, who were key in choosing Manchester as the host city.
They’ve performed at many famous locations over the years, including Earl’s Court, the London Arena, Alexandra Palace, Hammersmith Apollo, the Dominion Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall, the Grosvenor Hotel, and their very first venue, Wembley Conference Centre.
However, relocating the event from the capital marks a significant turning point in its history – perhaps the most dramatic one yet.
According to a source speaking with the Daily Mail, the BRIT Awards are leaving London for the first time in their 47-year history. Since the awards began in 1977, they’ve always been held in the capital city.
As a long-time fan of the London music scene, it’s definitely disappointing to hear that some artists and performers might be affected by changes to where shows are held. But honestly, from what I’m hearing within the industry, there’s a growing sense that we don’t need to keep using the same old venues every single year – a little variety could actually be a good thing!
The BRIT Awards is the most important event in British music, and now more people will be able to experience it live. By moving the event, it will be easier for fans in Manchester and nearby areas to attend.
Recently, there’s been growing support for moving this awards ceremony, following the examples of events like The Mercury Prize and The MOBO Awards. For the first time, the music industry won’t be so focused on London, benefiting both those nominated and their fans.
Jason Iley, CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland, announced that The BRIT Awards are moving to Manchester. He believes this move, to a city known for its legendary musicians, will energize the show and continue the BRITs’ tradition of supporting and promoting great music.
Manchester’s lively and historic culture makes it the ideal city to host the BRIT Awards. I’m really excited to experience the show at the incredible new Co-op Live arena.
Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, stated that bringing The BRIT Awards to the city is a significant achievement for the region.
It’s fantastic that this renowned international event is finally coming to London, a city famous for its music and culture, after 48 years.
Greater Manchester is world-renowned for its incredible musical history, and this summer promises some truly massive concerts.
We were able to achieve this thanks to our dedication to supporting new artists and providing them with opportunities to gain recognition.
We’re delighted the BPI chose Manchester, and we’re committed to making sure they’re happy with their decision. We’ll do everything we can to ensure it was the right choice.
Hosting the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city famous for its vibrant nightlife, marks an exciting new phase for the event, and we’re committed to making it a spectacular show.
