West End performer Georgina Castle announced on Monday that she and her husband, actor Simon Lipkin, are expecting their first child.
The 33-year-old actress, daughter of tennis star and BBC Wimbledon commentator Andrew Castle, announced she’s expecting a baby with a heartwarming video on Instagram.
Georgina and Simon found out the sex of their baby in a memorable way, and they decided to tell Georgina’s mother, Sophia, first.
Sophia blindfolded the couple and then squirted pink paint onto their hands. They used their painted hands to create prints.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve witnessed so many heartwarming reveals, and this one was particularly special. When they finally took off their blindfolds and saw those adorable pink handprints, their faces just lit up! You could instantly tell they were absolutely thrilled to be expecting a little girl. It was such a sweet and emotional moment – a beautiful way to share the news!
Georgina penned: ‘See you in September baby girl.’
I was so thrilled when I heard the news and immediately sent my congratulations! So many of their friends did, including Amber Davies – you might know her, she’s a fantastic actress from the West End and also won Love Island! It was lovely to see everyone sharing in their happiness.
We’re so thrilled to share the wonderful news! Congratulations – you’re going to be amazing parents! We can’t wait to meet the little one!
That’s wonderful news! Huge congratulations to both of you! We’re so happy to hear it’s finally official – congratulations again!
Georgina married West End performer Simon in a beautiful London wedding. Her father, Andrew Castle, proudly walked her down the aisle.
The actress, known for her roles in popular West End musicals like Mamma Mia!, 9 to 5, and Mean Girls, announced her marriage on Instagram. She posted some lovely photos and captioned it with ‘MR & MRS ♡ 07.09.25’, revealing her wedding date.
Georgina looked stunning in a long, white lace wedding dress with a flowing train and veil as she and her husband posed for photos in front of London’s impressive stone archways.
Simon, nominated for an Olivier Award last year for playing Fagin in the West End’s recent production of Oliver!, looked very smart in a traditional black tuxedo with a white necktie.
A touching black-and-white photo captures Georgina’s father, Andrew – a former top British tennis player – beaming with pride as he walks her down the aisle towards her future husband, carrying her bouquet.
I always tell my clients, the most magical moments happen when you surround yourselves with the people you love. This particular event was just that – a cozy space filled with twinkling lights, and when the couple said ‘I do,’ the room just exploded with joy! It was truly heartwarming to witness.
The couple first connected in 2022 while performing together in the West End musical, Elf. They received a lot of congratulatory messages from their friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
The wedding comes three months after Georgina’s Mamma Mia! themed hen do in Mykonos.
Oh my god, you will NOT believe what happened! She went to Greece with all her best girls – her mom, Sophia, and sister Claudia were there too, of course – and it was absolutely insane! They were practicing dances, toasting with champagne all day long, and get this… they ended the night by stripping down and jumping into the pool! Naked! It was legendary, honestly. I’m SO jealous I wasn’t there!
Georgina shared photos from the hen party on Instagram, writing, ‘This was an amazing surprise – my friends really know how to celebrate! It was like a dream come true!’
Simon couldn’t make it to Georgina’s bachelorette party in Mykonos, but he’s totally supportive of her having a fantastic time.
‘I just want to be left alone with a magic book and a cup of tea,’ he said.
‘She can go out and have the best time – and I’ll give her a cuddle when she gets home.’
As someone who’s seen a lot of love stories, both on and off stage, it’s always lovely to witness genuine affection. I’ve been following Simon’s career for years – he’s a fantastic performer, you might recognize him from shows like Rock of Ages and Avenue Q – and he’s always been incredibly open about how much he adores his wife. He’s never hidden his feelings, and it’s truly heartwarming to see.
Before the wedding, he playfully said he felt lucky to be marrying her, joking that he wasn’t in the same league as her previous partners. He described them as handsome, wealthy, and incredibly fit, while playfully referring to himself as an ordinary guy.
When we first met, I was wearing a cheap, badly-fitting ginger wig – I really looked like a low-rent version of Donald Trump with red hair! I was also significantly overweight, almost 20 stone, but somehow, she fell in love with me anyway.
Let me tell you, when talking about Georgina, he was absolutely smitten! He described her as just…perfect. Seriously, he said she outshines him in every way – she’s more intelligent, more gifted, even more beautiful. He genuinely believes she’s better than him at everything, and it’s so sweet to see!
Andrew has spoken in the past of being immensely proud of his daughter’s stage career.
He told The Times in 2022 that Georgie’s success as an actor was unexpected, as they hadn’t previously supported her pursuing that path.
I’d never want to pressure her into following my dreams. I’ve seen too many people end up unhappy because their parents forced them onto paths they didn’t choose, and it’s really sad.
Her singing is captivating – it completely draws everyone in, including me. It’s a wonderfully strange way to earn a living.
We’re big fans and love all of her performances. She was fantastic in the 9 to 5 musical, and seeing her in Mamma Mia! in London’s West End was absolutely incredible.
I’m incredibly proud of her professionalism. All I’ve ever wanted from my children is for them to always try their best.
Georgina recently completed her run playing the iconic Regina George in the popular West End musical, Mean Girls – a role famously portrayed by Rachel McAdams in the original movie.
