DRX defeated PRX and will now compete in the VALORANT Champions 2025 Lower Bracket Grand Final against Fnatic. The question now is: can they win the championship?
Following their victory over Paper Rex at VALORANT Champions 2025, DRX believes they have a strong chance of reaching the Grand Finals. The team spoke about how they played in the post-match press conference, what they hope to achieve, and their next match against Fnatic. The question now is: will DRX make it to the finals and compete for the championship trophy? It’s a challenge they seem ready to face.
MaKo’s experience
Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan has competed in every Champions tournament so far, and this is one of his best performances yet. He’s matched his third-place finish from Champions 2022, making this a particularly strong showing for him in the tournament. He has consistently been a presence at the highest level of Valorant competition.
People around me have been pointing this out, even if I don’t always realize it myself. What really matters to me, though, is that I persevered and made it through every single game. It’s crucial to stay focused on your goal and never quit, and I’m truly thankful for every match we’ve played and all the ones we have coming up,” MaKo said.
Meanwhile, Song “HYUNMIN” Hyun-min, who joined from Tier 2, described his experience as unique. “I believe I’ve improved as a player over time,” he stated. “Going into Champions, I just wanted to enjoy the tournament, and that’s still my goal,” the player added. During the match against Paper Rex, HYUMIN achieved a KDA of 55/32/4 with an ACS of 296.
DRX faces FNC at Champions 2025
Following a strong 2-0 win against the popular team Paper Rex at Champions 2025, DRX’s head coach, Seon-ho “termi” Pyeon, discussed their next match against Fnatic in the Lower Bracket Grand Final. These two teams had already played each other earlier in VALORANT Champions 2025, with Fnatic narrowly winning 2-1 and sending DRX to the Lower Bracket.
I think FNATIC has more at stake than we do, which means they’ll be feeling the pressure. If we keep playing as well as we did today, I’m confident we can win our next game,” coach termi explained. “I believe our team is prepared and truly focused, embracing a nothing-to-lose attitude. The players successfully put that into practice today and really enjoyed themselves. Hopefully, we can maintain this momentum and energy tomorrow too.
DRX is considered the underdog going into this match. They are confident in their ability to compete against FNATIC, no matter which maps are played. “We understand that Fnatic is a very strong team, but we’ve studied their strategies closely,” termi explained.
