Wendy Williams seen publicly for the first time in more than a year at New Jersey wellness store – after her dementia diagnosis was revealed
As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, I must say it warms my heart to see Wendy Williams stepping out and living her life again. It’s been a challenging journey for her, and as someone who has navigated my own ups and downs in the public eye, I truly empathize with her struggles.
For the initial time in more than a year, Wendy Williams was spotted out in public, appearing cheerful and at ease, during a shopping excursion to an herbal remedy shop in Newark, New Jersey, earlier this month.
On August 18th, the talk show host, celebrating her 60th birthday in July, took a photo with Victor Bowman, one of the African Bio Mineral Cell Food owners. She radiated her typical elegant charm while holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers and flashing a smile for the camera.
Since her diagnosis with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in May 2023, Wendy has not been spotted in public. A court-appointed legal guardianship, managing both her finances and health, was established for Wendy a year prior to this diagnosis.
2022 saw New York attorney Sabrina Morrissey being appointed as her own legal guardian. This change came about following Wells Fargo’s decision to freeze her accounts, an action taken due to her previous financial advisor asserting that she was not mentally sound at the time.
In contrast to what her family asserted back in July about being deprived of visiting Wendy, it appeared to me that I was part of an outing with Wendy and her son, Kevin Junior, in New Jersey. Interestingly, even Kevin Junior and Victor were captured together for a photograph during this occasion.
In a blue button-up dress, Wendy showcased her uncovered legs, accessorizing with oversized white “moon boots,” vibrant pink lipstick, and nail polish to match. Her hair fell loose, framed by bangs, and she casually looped an arm around the man’s waist.
The post was titled: ‘Sending lots of affection to Wendy Williams and her son @topfloor_kev. I recall when my father introduced me to Kevin in Usha village, explaining that I should meet Wendy’s son. At that moment, we were the only ones around our age in Usha.’
And people were quick to comment on it.
‘This makes me smile,’ one person wrote, while another said: ‘So glad to see this….’
1. Fan number three remarked, ‘Wendy seems great! May goodness be with her,’ as fan four expressed, ‘Indeed, bring back the old Wendy in good health; we truly miss her.’
1st Person: “Her story has been truly touching, it’s left me feeling quite emotional…”
As reported by The US Sun, the store’s manager stated that when Wendy and Kevin arrived, they didn’t make any special requests, instead, they engaged in discussions centered around health and wellness.
Wendy shared that she’s considering increasing her self-detox efforts. She seemed eager to educate herself on various products first before fully committing, which means she might rejoin our conversation soon for a deeper discussion. Essentially, this was just a preliminary topic.
He added, “She also mentioned she’s been experiencing confusion, or what’s often referred to as ‘brain fog.’ She expressed a desire for improved mental sharpness.”
1. Apart from sharing that she’s managing stress (who isn’t?), she was vague about the specifics. However, she did bring up a desire to improve her circulation as well.
According to the store manager, it appeared as though Wendy had received care elsewhere. He further mentioned that whatever kind of care she might have been receiving, which she did not specify – it seemed clear that she was exploring other options and eager to gain more knowledge in that area.
Viewers found themselves worried about Wendy as a documentary detailing her life after 2022 was broadcasted on Lifetime in February 2024.
Back in March, there were claims that Wendy Williams was said to have received a payment of $100,000 for each episode she featured in a four-part documentary series called “Where Is Wendy Williams?”.
Simultaneously, it became known that Wendy’s guardian took legal action against the owners of Lifetime and A&E Television Networks, accusing them of exploiting her in a shockingly disgraceful manner by claiming they had acted in a blatantly exploitative way.
Last month, Sabrina, acting as the guardian, submitted a lawsuit for confidential handling. However, documents related to this lawsuit were unveiled and scrutinized by The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, disclosing shocking allegations within the case.
In simpler terms, the legal team representing Williams’ guardian expressed their strong disapproval to the court over the obvious abuse of a woman with a severe health issue who holds deep affection in both the African American community and beyond. They firmly believe that such behavior should not be tolerated.
According to THR, Sabrina’s statement to the court is that the talk show host was unable to give consent, and the producers failed to obtain her consent, since she was acting as her legal guardian in this case, to create the content.
In the lawsuit, it’s claimed that Williams was deceived by the producers, who made her believe the documentary was intended to enhance her public persona and standing.
