Wendy Williams Fights Back: Passed Psych Test, Wants Guardian Off
Wendy Williams is refuting allegations that she’s unable to function, following an incident where the police were contacted after a casual dining experience in New York City.
The 60-year-old talk show host decided to take a break from her daytime television program, as health issues were becoming more prominent.
In the year 2022, a guardian named Sabrina Morrissey was appointed for her, and she was admitted to a healthcare facility for addressing her persistent health problems.
In 2023, Williams received a diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Documents submitted by Morrissey in 2024 indicated that she was experiencing significant cognitive decline, permanent disability, and legal incapacitation.
Currently, Williams is refuting claims suggesting her incapacitation by participating in a pre-recorded telephone interview for ‘The View’, which is set to be broadcast on Friday, as reported by Page Six.
In the interview, Williams expressed that throughout his life he’s been engaged in significant endeavors, and these two individuals do not resemble him, neither in speech nor behavior. They can never replace him. He emphasized that it’s crucial for them to stop bothering or hindering him.

She disclosed that not only had she undergone and successfully passed the psychological assessment, but that the decision to take the evaluation was hers, not Morrissey’s.
Williams added she also went to the doctor to get some blood work done for her thyroid condition.
Williams remarked, “I felt I needed some fresh air. Since I had to see the doctor, that’s why I ended up at the hospital.
She stated, “I opted for an individual assessment regarding my situation, one that I haven’t received yet. It’s outrageous for them to suggest that I am incapacitated. I am not!
Recently, Williams has been featured on multiple talk shows, including The Breakfast Club and Good Day New York.
She also made headlines for a dinner date with her niece Alex Finnie.
Initially, it was fantastic… They admitted me at the hospital, and then, with the guardian’s approval, we departed from the hospital via ambulance. Later, we spent approximately an hour at a care facility because we were aware that we were going out for dinner to celebrate life, as Williams described the occasion.
After having dinner at Tucci, she was spotted interacting with the photographers, commenting, “Tucci had a fantastic dinner! There were photographers present, so we paused for them. That’s just part of my life.

She paused, struck a pose, and the two staff members who were stationed below were waiting for her. She’s not allowed to venture anywhere else, she must remain on this floor, specifically the memory unit, she explained.
She mentioned that the term ‘memory unit’ is usually allocated for patients who are significantly older, often in their 80s and 90s. Surprised, she exclaimed, “But I’m only 60! What on earth am I doing here?
Sunny Hostin from “The View,” who Williams helped kick-start her media career in the past, posed a question about her potential return to broadcasting. However, given the current circumstances of this guardianship, it appears rather improbable.
A confidant commented on Williams’ appearance on The View, stating she’s an old acquaintance of the program and everyone sends their well-wishes to her.
