Wendy Williams’ Dinner Plans Foiled by Conservatorship Drama
In the role of a dedicated follower, I’m sharing an update: As per reports, Sabrina Morrissey, Wendy Williams‘ court-assigned guardian, declined my request to depart from Coterie assisted living facility in New York City on Wednesday evening for a dinner outing with my niece Alex Finnie and her recently appointed attorney Joe Tacopina.
Reports from reliable sources revealed to TMZ on Wednesday that the refusal could potentially stem from Wendy’s firm intention to terminate the guardianship.
If the court-declared incapacitated judge from Manhattan fails to terminate the conservatorship, the 60-year-old presenter plans to insist on a jury trial.
In 2022, the same judge designated a 60-year-old elder law attorney as Wendy’s guardian following reports from her former manager, Bernie Young, suggesting she wasn’t mentally sound. This concern prompted Wells Fargo to put a hold on her bank accounts.

On March 11th, I got word from Sabrina’s legal representative to TMZ that they’ve been assuring everyone she has unlimited access to her beloved family, and she’s receiving top-notch medical attention. I’m thrilled to hear this because it means she’s in a place equipped with a luxurious spa, a fitness center for her workouts, delectable meals served in a dining room, and lovely outdoor terraces where she can enjoy some fresh air – all for her wellbeing!
Nevertheless, the five-time Daytime Emmy nominee frequently asserts that she is unable to depart from the fifth-floor memory unit without obtaining approval, which essentially means someone from the staff will need to open the elevator for her, giving the impression of a high-end confinement.
‘In a room on the fifth floor, a woman is confined. This ward doesn’t allow her to come and go freely. She’s also cut off from the Internet. She can’t pop out for meals like dinner or lunch,’ Tacopina shared with Sid & Friends In The Morning last Friday.
On her floor, everyone else seems to be around eighty or ninety years old and struggles to recall their own names. She, unfortunately, finds herself in this situation, which is truly distressing.
The 58-year-old attorney, successful in defending A$AP Rocky for criminal assault charges, clarified that Frontotemporal Dementia is a progressive disorder, and since giving up alcohol a year ago, Wendy has noticeably improved.
‘The problem is the guardianship process in New York state is horrifically complicated,’ Joe noted.
I will make every possible effort to help her escape from that harsh predicament she’s currently in. After all, Sid, you’re well aware of Wendy’s character. It’s shocking to see so many people in this field expressing their admiration for her and finding it hard to comprehend the circumstances she’s facing.
